It's also huge that they got Overshown in the 3rd round and Clark in the 5th last year.

We’ll see if he shows up when the games start. I never get overly excited about training camp performances. There’s been players that look terrific in camp practices, but don’t show up when the games start. When they start making plays in games that encourages me.

I think the cowboys strategy of drafting LB’s in the mid rounds is pretty sound. You usually get your best bang for buck at off ball LB in those rounds.

I expect his role this year will be special teams. I have higher hopes for Cox for this upcoming season as crazy as that sounds after his first two years.

Let me be clear, I’m not saying he’s not going to be a good player. There’s been a lot of players look great in training camp that turned into great players and there’s been some players that have looked great in training camp that didn’t pan out. Jalen Tolbert was getting good reviews in camp prior to preseason last year and he proceeded not to show up in games. The problem with training camps these days is they’re basically glorified walk-throughs. There’s not much contact out there because there’s a huge emphasis on trying to keep players healthy. You really don’t know if a player can play until the games start.

I don’t remember a lot of gushing over him until we saw him play in games. A lot of fans weren’t happy with his selection. We had no idea how great a pass rusher he was until the games started.

I told everybody that he was going to be a dominant pass rusher. How did I know that? It was from watching him and seeing the explosive strength and speed. The athletic ability.
