How do you guys feel about Overshown? The signing of his new agent sure puts a piss rain over the possibility of us extending him. I think many would have liked to extend him on a Sean Lee type of pay for play type of scenario, but I’m sure that’s not going to happen now.

Hate to lose him, to see him ball out healthy for another team on his next contract. I would hate it even more if we extend him for real money and see him never contribute as he has done on his rookie deal.

My guess is the Cowboys will let him test free agency.

Let’s see how he does this year, and if he can stay healthy. Then go from there.
I don’t care who his agent is. He will not be getting the Micah type contract. So I am not concerned.

Healthy, Overshown is an instinctive, heat seeking missile, in blitzing, sacking the QB, making forced tackles for loss in backfield, rangy sideline to sideline, and he seems to be able to force turnovers.

Of course his game is still refining and developing, as he's missed so much time at NFL level.

Imo, this has to be prove heathy, productive year, .. else we cannot afford to wait for him, and have to seek his replacement. .

Depends on his health and how CP uses him. It’s obvious Eberfraud couldn’t figure it out, and after Zimmer did and he broke out he got hurt, so if he stays healthy I’m sure Dallas will be happy to bring him back. He’s a talent.

FYI you guys do know pj Locke and Malik Hooker are represented by Mulugheta? They both signed or extended with the Cowboys this offseason.

If he has a huge year - just average his total season by season tackles and pay him based on his seasson average. Sort of like what we should do with Pickens.

Unless I’m reading it wrong I think his response is fair. Him playing 80 percent of the season is a start. Overshown as much as I love him has shown nothing but potential. And potential only gets you so far.

He has to stay injury free and be a solid contributor to be considered for an extension. Else next year we draft LBs.

Unless I’m reading it wrong I think his response is fair. Him playing 80 percent of the season is a start. Overshown as much as I love him has shown nothing but potential. And potential only gets you so far.

Yes. I doubt that we extend him too. I am sure we would like to for the right price but the odds of that happening seem somewhat unlikely.
