With all due respect, Philly was his 2nd chance. We are his 3rd chance.

Let me ask the TO supporters one very serious question. This franchise is acting right now like they want to fix the problems. I hope you would agree.

Now, tell me how they get the whole team to believe it if the #1 distraction and lightning rod for controversy is allowed to come back? How could they even buy the sales pitch if it's just hollow talk?

I'd cut him before his $3.1 million roster bonus is due, which means before March 1st he'd have a pink slip.

The number one distraction for this team is the anonymous source. If that person doesn't feed Werner and the press is fair and talks about how every single WR went to Garrett and this is a nonissue. I guess you forget all the model citizen talk from earlier.

There was no source...

Everybody around the Cowboys probably heard about A meeting...He made the rest up.

Chance #1: San Francisco. Playing in the NFL for every single player is a privilege, not a right.

Chance #2: Philadelphia. The 49ers wanted to get rid of Owens as much as he wanted out of San Francisco. Bundled trade paperwork left the 49ers without any compensation, the Baltimore Ravens left out in the cold and the Philadelphia Eagles with the wide receiver they always wanted, but ended up with a lot more than they ever [strike]had nightmares about[/strike] dreamed.

Chance #3: Dallas. Philadelphia deactivated him well before the end of the 2005 season. He was an unemployed Eagle at the time Jerry Jones offered him a contract.
1, 2, 3. See above.
"Trade"? Do you think that Jerry Jones acquired Terrell Owens via a trade?

oh boy.
Currently, Terrell Owens = Dallas Cowboys. Any thing that he does concerns the Dallas Cowboys.
:bang2:

I'm almost to the point where I'm gonna start reciting Iceberg's monkey nugget analogy every time I see these weak comparisons.
Yep. Everybody's guilty of not helping this team succeed in 2008 EXCEPT for you know who...

Ever see a mule with blinders? that's what some of these people remind me of.

Very good points you made!

OK DE I know he wasn't traded and since you didn't understand what happened if S.F. and Philly was their issue there and that shouldn't concern the Cowboys.

WOW.... :blind:

I like q-tips better than removing the hook, line and sinker I swallowed from ESPN- but hey, to each his own guess.

One doesn't have to watch ESPN to form their own opinion.

Not swallowing anything from ESPN. Go back and look. I said that was overblown.

LOL

Then explain why the team is debating whether or not to release him.

Why the coaches are suddenly silent.

Why no one on the staff will answer a question about him specifically. Not just Jason Garrett.

Why TO himself said on TNT last night tat there were "obviously some issues."

No, he wan't a distraction at all. A model player would cause drastic things like that to happen. You hear about it all the time for DeMarcus Ware too. [/sarcasm]

I am neither a supporter or hater or Owens, but allow me to play devils advocate. We..more so you..have seen players such as Hollywood Henderson, Micheal Irvin, LT, and im sure countless others whom have had drug and other off the field issues that caused distractions to the team. Would you not bring them back?

I would. I dont buy into the "hes all drama" "hes a distraction to the team" if he returns to his 2006-07 form and brings in 15 tds 14xx yards again, I'll welcome him. Hos you know those kind of numbers are going to be done by Crayton, Hurd, Stanback.

I was behind Landry 100% when he waived Lance Rentzel, Rafael Septien, and Thomas Henderson. He cut a couple of them so fast the ink wasn't dry on the newspapers yet.

LT was never a Cowboy, so I have no opinion on him.

When Irvin had his issues I wanted him gone. The team has never recovered from Irvin's arrest and the police blotter reports that followed. March 1996 he was arrested. Then a string of player incidents followed and the team has not in the playoffs since those things happened.

Talent is not enough to offset iddiocy.

I don't know the team is debating, how do you know they are? ESPN? DMN?

Why should they be talking? Just because you and the media are? That's probably not enough for them to weigh into this foolishness.

Issues? Sure I guess there are, enough to be cut over? No way.

I'm sorry, you'll have to let me in those "drastic" things- guess I missed SportsCenter that day.

I bet you weren't, nor was anyone else, calling for the release of Michael Irvin when Dallas was winning 3 superbowls in 4 years despite his being a coke head, screwing around with strippers and prostitutes, and if I remember correctly he, along with Erik Williams, were alleged to have raped some girl.

But all that is forgotten, and didn't or doesn't matter, as long as the team is winning.

As bad as TO can be, and is, off the field with his complaining he's never in the news for BS like that. If the Cowboys were able to some how 'survive' Irvin being a partying, coke using, distraction then I think they can handle a little prima-donna attitude from a WR now days.

Jerry and the coaches are specifically saying they will not discuss the man, and there is no problem.

Hello Pollyanna.

I know for a fact that there have been discussions about releasing him. Not form ESPN, DMN, or FWST either. But who cares? Not you obviously.

Oh yes I was. I even called for it on Papa Joe Chevalier's national radio show.

I can tell you this. I do not now, nor will I ever own a Michael Irvin jersey.

It doesn't have to be criminal activity for it to harm a team.
