Owens' Karma Catching Up With Him

Without a doubt Owens wanted to beat Philadelphia more than any team this year. It was personal. Interesting that in those 2 games he had his worst games of the year. Against each of the QBs that he through under the bus at his previous team's expense.

Yep, karma is a kick in the shorts.
it's not karma as much as he has a mental block with philly now in 2 games. they're in his head, like the child who feels mommy didnt hug them enough 20 years later.

i almost wish mcnabb had played i thought TO might be more more focused or something. garcia had an axe to grind with TO as well and outplayed him badly monday.

I dunno, karma wouldn't have this happen to America's team, we certainly deserve better. And, Owens caught 3 touchdowns against the 49ers when he was with the Eagles.

Karma would be having us face them one more time in the NFC Championship and kicking their tails. :D

Then I suppose it also wasn't his fault that he chose to sign with a team that was a run-first two wide-receiver set as opposed to say...another West Coast offense team?

I suppose it also wasn't his fault he chose to sign with a team that had a stubborn/old-school set-in-his-ways head coach too?

He wanted to play for Dallas more than any other team. I actually wish he would have signed elsewhere. It surely would have been a lot easier on my fingers....and we'd still be in the boat we're in today.

Actually I think he wanted to play for the Falcons but Arthur Blank said no, if I'm not mistaken.

Really now. I didn't know TO was covering Garcia.

IIRC that was media speculation. I'm not surprised a story like that got out.

reading comprehension is not your bag?

Garcia played his position (QB) much better than TO did his (WR)

played better and did more on the field in every way.

Ohhhhhh Ok! Thanks for the clarification. ;)

I'm not mad at Jerry for signing TO. I understand his reasons for doing so. Normally, I like players who are aggressive and cocky, but I feel that TO has always crossed the line. I understand this is pro sports and ultimately winning is the bottomline. However, I feel that teams should know when to make a stand and place ethics above players. TO is a cancer and a selfish player. I always felt the Cowboys stood for something and by hiring this person, our reputation has been tarnished a bit.

Now that is Owens' fault.

The OC should be able to adjust however need be to get the most out of Owens IMO.

Dallas doesn't have an offensive coordinator... Our last offensive coordinator is now the HC in New Orleans and having tremendous success... Furthermore, he was never replaced... I still don't understand that move or lack thereof.

You have made an excellent point. I clearly see where a good portion of the offensive problem lies. It pales in comparison to the defensive problems but it's a factor. Yet still, it's all TO's fault. Laughable.

A BIG Mother Flippin' YAWN for you sir

Name one cancer-like transgression as a Cowboy?
He selfishly wants to extend the season and keep winning? Shoot to kill

I wrote the following post on another board late Monday night...

The Football Gods Have Spoken

I guess they do exist after all. Think about this for a second. We signed the 'devil' of the NFL in Terrell Owens. By most accounts he ruined the Eagles 2005 season after tearing up the locker room. Then they get rid of him after finally realizing he is a disease. Almost every other NFL team did not even attempt to sign him because they knew he was the 'devil'.

Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells were so hungry to get back on top by winning a Super Bowl, no matter what they had to do, that they decided to sell their soul to this 'devil' for 25 million dollars.

Simply put, it's good versus evil and the Cowboys are the evil in that equation. The sad part is that we didn't even need him because we could have kept Keyshawn or drafted a WR and still been a decent offense. All the distractions and dropped passes were not worth the production value.

Now he comes out after this game to the press conference and starts spewing all kinds of garbage that will only be more of a distraction this week.

The Football Gods will not allow this 'devil' to win a Super Bowl because any player who acts like him is not worthy of such an honor. They specifically spoke loud and clear today against his former team - the one he burned alive last season.

Again, the Football Gods have spoken and let us know that as long as Terrell Owens is on this team we are going to keep on suffering for dealing with the 'devil'.

What in the name of Sam Hill are you doing with an Eagles logo avatar?

I won't answer your question because no matter what incident I bring up I am sure it will be ignored or rationalized, but as usual I will answer with a question of my own. Are you freaking serious?

It reads nicely but it doesn't answer the question of why we're the same imploding team we were at the very same point last year. TO wasn't here last year. Please address that in a well thought out post.

Well who ever is calling the plays whether it's Palmer of Haley or Parcells, they should adapt to whatever they have to do to get Owens the ball more and so he can get yards after.

Are you of the opinion that last year's problems could not possibly have been addressed and nothing else could crop up as a problem? Because I'll be honest I don't see much synonymous with last year with or without pointing a finger at TO. I believe there can always be new symptoms and illnesses to keep someone from getting well.

I'm of the opinion that the same problems that have plagued this team for the last 4 years are still plaguing this team. The blame can only be improperly laid on TO for being a participant in this year's debacle. How do we explain the last 4 years?

Every year brings new problems and new circumstances.

Last year the offensive line and Drew Bledsoe were dreadful down the stretch and the team was playing a lot of rookies on defense.

This year the cast is in place for something big to happen. Yet as soon as we get back on track there is another quarter on the rail to kinda shake us back off. Like Hostile says, maybe it's something bigger than just what we can see and touch. Karma my friend is something that we cannot control no matter how hard we try.

By the way, I did write the post as sort of sarcasm with a little twist of realism. I had been stewing in misery for a few hours by this time and in a drunken state I ran out of reasons for why this team seems to not be able to play very well under pressure at home. I could see if we got plastered on the road, but we seem to play rather well on the road for whatever reason.
