"I know the microphones and cameras are on me. They're looking at my gestures and taking it and running with it because of things that have happened in the past. It's very unfair. If I don't say anything, then I go to the sideline and don't say anything, then it's going to be, 'He doesn't care.' It's like I'm in a no-win situation." --Terell Owens (10-11-06)

I have to agree with him on this one. All we saw was his expressive face, no audio (at least I didn't). But if that were Troy Polamalu, Brett Favre or even Jeremy Shockey, the media would say they were trying to fire up the players. If it's Owens (or somebody like Randy Moss or maybe Chad Johnson), then it's immediately spun as being selfish, angry ranting.

Heck, Shockey sits in front of a camera and badmouths his coaches and the media talks about it for a day. The team says they've taken care of things in house and then it just goes away.

Owens hates losing...what NFL player doesn't?

The media is salivating at the idea of a meltdown...they talk about how it's coming, just a matter of time, won't be long, any day now. They want that, they want that story and they're gonna spin everything to give it that look.

It's getting lame... but that's just my opinion

I agree but the differance is TO past reputation. I would also say Jeremy Shockey is building a reputation as well and I see more in the media talking about him the same as they do TO.

The media wants this to blow up really badly.

They can taste it.

They hate Owens, and they have always hated the Cowboys, so now they are salivating for this to blow up in Dallas.

Joe Buck and Terry Bradshaw are vicious, .. vicious in their hate for TO.

Others like Berman or Jackson are more subtle, but they hate too.

Owens will not get a fair shot from the media while in Dallas.

It is a shame but that is how it is.

I think he is doing fine, I like the kid.

He has said nothing worse than Witten did after the game, but the media takes everything he says or does and twists it.

All you have to do is listen to his and Parcells PC's to verify that.

See, that is my point, some don't even know about this, but Owens is quoted all over the media and different twists are put on it.

When asked about the last INt, Witten just said something like, "based on what the LB did, I am supposed to curl left, Bledsoe thought I would curl right, I don't know, we'll have to watch the film and see what happened."

Basically his opinion, which was different from Bledsoe, which is OK.

If Owens says that same thing, it gets blown up and twisted into him blaming his QB.

I can't believe the media doesn't get called on their double standards.

Are we STILL trying to compare TO with other players?

P.S. We need a "yawn" smiley or do we have one?

Exactly!

We are the Dallas Cowboys. We are not a crumbling San Fran under Mooch and we are not Philly with Captain Cheesesteak.

We will handle this differently. Instead of running and crying like those teams did...

You dont think other members of the team care about winning?

There is more to caring about winning than spouting off to whichever microphone is closest to you and screaming on the sideline.

No they don't care, they bust their humps all week and take the abuse after a loss because they love it. :lmao2: I agree just because a guy is not running around screaming does not mean he does not want to win as much as TO.

That is a very good point T.O. is bringing out.

Finally we as die hard cowboys fans get it. I actually think it will turn into a good thing. The one thing I dont like is the monstous ego BP has that wont allow him to try to get to know T.O.. His passion could be a good thing. He did it with TG, Brian Cox, LT and all the other high strung players known as parcells guys. I know I know T.O. is too selfish and will get too much pub but something has to give.

Sunday he will probably get his first TD in texas stadium and things will probably calm down a little. the texans simply cant stop the run and will open t.o. up alot of passes. BP could easily stop all this will a simply conversation. it does seem that bp doesnt really like t.o. and the media hype is starting to get on his never and its only week 6!

Here is a question. The media uses the excuse of TO's past transgressions as fodder for them treating him differently than other players. Is it possible now that we have seen the media do their spin thing that maybe just maybe his history has been embellished to paint TO into a corner? No doubt he has said and had done some things to give them the ammunition they needed but maybe those things got spun much like the spinsters are doing now. Just a thougth...

Why can't Terrell Owens just shut his pie-hole and play football as if the entire game/world didn't revolve around him. :bang2:

And if he did, I'm sure the spinsters would twist that into him not caring. And if they didn't put a mic in his face no one would hear it.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

It's not just Owens.

Glenn was frustrated too, but nobody was following him around with cameras and a mic in his face.

Witten said something similar to Owens but that doesn't sell so you don't see that on SportCenter.

Everyone on the offense was frustrated but the media follows Owens waiting for a burp or a sneeze to report.

Bp was frustrated and screaming guys down as well. That's what happens when your having a bad day. T.O. is the medias cash cow especially now that he's a cowboy.

They are playing the general public like the sheep they are. The media badgers T.O. with the questions about "who's at fault?". T.O. does his best say they all must work to get better. Media runs to BP asking for his take on T.O. 's latest comment on who's at fault. BS!

Like BP, I'm tired of hearing about this ^%! already.
