I don't see how he could 'disrupt' anything..

I can.

If he's you're starting CB all year and effs things up like he's done in the past...that's called a distraction.

You have to:

1) replace him

2) Lose the limited cap money we had.

3)deal with whatever he potentially did, with the press etc. and despite what many say, the players get distracted in this scenario. It certainly doesn't help things. Given the fact that it's Pac Man, the story would be all over the place ..... that and the fact that it the Dallas Cowboys we're talking about.

Losing a starting CB in the middle of a potential Super Bowl run is a serious problem, especially for this particular team.....short on CB's.

To suggest that you can't see how this scenario couldn't disrupt anything is dubious IMO/FWIW.

Carry on.

Who talked about starting?

I see him as this team's 3rd cornerback replacing 'Bullseye' Reeves and replacing 'Fair Catch' Crayton as punt returner.

The team would still use a high draft choice on a cornerback. That player would get plenty of experience before being thrust into an on-field role.

I don't get why some people perceive it to be one or the other - Pacman or draft pick.

If Jones screws up again - he's done. He knows it as much as all of us do. The Cowboys trading for him wouldn't enable to him to behave poorly. He can do that with or without football.

The team is giving him a chance, nothing more.

If he screws that up, it's on him, not the Dallas Cowboys. Just like it wasn't on the Tennessee Titans either.

That's the way I see it.

I would rather get a more sound corner in the Sean Springs mold after June 1st as our 3rd guy.

Especially if we draft a corner early.

If you could assure me that was gonna happen I'd agree.

But Springs is still a Commander despite all of their cap cuttings.

They could have dsignated hima June 1st cut if they had plans to cut him.

I don't think that's happening.

Correct me if I'm wrong

But in order for him to sign this magical incentive laden cheap deal first he'd have to be waived and go through waivers. Then he'd have to actually agree to it. If we were to trade for him we'd have to accept the contract he's already under. I know it's a rookie deal but he was a top 10 pick so it's not going to be that cheap.

Adam would be the guy to ask, but since Pac hasn't completed 4 years of service i would guess he'd have to pass through waivers. If traded i would guess the team that trades for him would inherit his current contract. But I'm probably wrong:eek:: We wouldn't have any guaranteed money tied up and if we did waive him after one year all we'd owe him is salary and he can collect that if he's waived. 1.2925 million for 2008? Not bad IMHO.

8/19/2005: Signed a five-year, $30 million contract. The deal contains $15.1 million in guarantees, including Jones' 2008 base salary. 2008: $1.2925 million, 2009: $1.7425 million, 2010: $2.192 million, 2010: Free Agent
