Packers ask to make tush push illegal

I hate the play...but mostly because the Eagles seemed to run it better than anyone else.
What are your thoughts?
I just wish Luvu had gone offside for the 3rd time in that playoff game, it would have embarrassed the league to see a TD scored from that, i understand why he didn't but it would have been awesome.

It's not a football play and it's never been a football play.

I see Troy Vincent mentioned their safety committee is looking into it. I think they end up banning it.

Well 24 teams need to agree to it. It was a bigger issue 2 years ago and Troy Vincent said they shouldn't take a play away just cause another team does it well. The only way they consider banning it is if it starts hurting people, not because a team can't stop it.

to push....not pull or carry your teammate.
that is still a penalty but rarely called.
high school has it right...you can't push, pull or carry.

I don't care for it but it shows an extreme softness by the Packers to complain about it. Pretty sad and embarrassing if you ask me.

the so called competition committee is the biggest problem the NFL has

The continual rules tinkering that makes the game worse and worse

they have pretty much destroyed the onside kick

their so called catch rules stupidity is just the most obvious

Weren’t the Bills 0-4 against the Chiefs? One team executes it to perfection so we want to ban it?

For the record, I think of you sneak it the QB should have to get it minus assistance, but to be real, the complaining is only happening cuz each time Philly gets the ball it’s really 1st & 8.

With so many teams doing the quarterback sneak, I don't know who wants to ban it? They say one team. I wonder who that is Kansas City? The Buffalo Bill tried several times to execute it successfully, but failed every time even with a predominant QB. Philly came along and had no problem against Kansas City executing on the QB sneak.

I would say no just because no other team has really perfected it to the extent the Eagles have. For that reason alone its not an automatic play, its one team having a superior skillset and ability.

Instead of banning the play I would tighten up some of the rules around the play. Keep the Center from getting too far over the football, maintain the neutral zone for both sides, etc. Drives me nuts when its a fraction of a yard needed and the Center is basically already there.

Yes! or limited to a minimum 2 yards ........that evens the playing field.

Yes, to me the player is being aided..when I think about the rule where a player can't use another player as leverage to block a punt is different but same concept..they aren't doing it on their own, not to mention the fact that the quarterback gets credit for a touchdown when being pushed from behind..not too much effort from quarterback

I wonder what rule proposal they put forth. All they have to do is go back to how the rules use to be. A player can't push, pull, carry, the player with the ball. How else would they ban it? They're still going to run that play. The RBs will just push the OL instead of the QB.
