The more pass rushers we have, the better our pass rush is (obviously).

Yeah, I'd bring him in. He might actually be able to stay healthy and might actually do well enough to take advantage of 1 on 1 on blocking (since ware draws attention to the other side).

what i don't get is why now in midseason.....did they not know he was washed up in training camp?

Harrel was activated today form the PUP. Probably had to lose someone to make room.

I wasnt suggesting it, I was just confused as to why they would cut him, mid-season.

because their GM doesn't baby their players and cuts them when they don't perform.

PACKERS CUT KABEER GBAJA-BIAMILA

Posted by Michael David Smith on November 1, 2008, 1:00 p.m.

The Green Bay Packers have released defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, the team announced today.

“We want to thank Kabeer for his contributions to the Green Bay Packers,” G.M. Ted Thompson said. “During his time here, he has been a big part of our organization and our community. We wish Kabeer and his family well.”

In a classy statement issued as he was cut, Gbaja-Biamila thanked the Packers and their fans.

“My nine years as a Green Bay Packer have been a blessing that is beyond words,” Gbaja-Biamila said. “I thank God for bringing me to this first-class organization and first-class community. During my time here, I’ve built relationships with a number of people in the Packer family. The front office executives, G.M.s, coaches, past and present players, the enormous support and administrative staff plus the greatest fans in football, all have helped make my time here truly special and I am thankful for that. It has been a very positive experience.”

Gbaja-Biamila was struggling through a difficult season in which he had started just one game and had 0.5 sacks. He is the franchise’s all-time sacks leader with 74.5.

The Packers also announced that they have activated defensive tackle Justin Harrell from the physically unable to perform list.

What could it hurt to work him out? If KGB is not injured, that is just one improvement over Spencer. Maybe the Cowboys can use their Cowboy Package for the first time this season.

It is when Kappman is playing on the other side of you.

 Dude...if you think 9.5 sacks is invisible because Aaron Kampman is on the other end, you are ridiculous. 9.5 sacks isnt invisible even if you would have Haynesworth and Kampman on the line.

Explain...

I just don't believe that an aging KGB, even fully healthy, is an upgrade over a fully healthy Spencer. When he's actually out there, the kid plays very well.

KGB is done. Teams don't let go of pass rushers like this unless they can't play anymore.

I'm not against working him out, but I think the odds are that our staff would find that he's no longer a capable player.

Yeah, cuz Spencer has really shown what a great pass rusher he is, right?

Yeah, because that's what I said, right? Hell, I didn't even insinuate that...but whatever makes you feel better about your opinion.

So what is he a bum now? he had 9 sacks last season. When we beat the Packers that's the guy who every Pack fan blamed the loss on was the KGB not being there. So PAck fans thought highly of him. I guess management didn't.

I thought last year Spencer did a pretty good job as a rookie. He hasn't had much of a shot this year to do anything. But he did look good when he was healthy and playing on a weekly basis.

The same staff that sings the praises of Brad Johnson? I think you are giving them way to much credit... lol

I'm prone to think that what this staff actually thinks, and what this staff tells the media are entirely two different things.

I can't possibly fathom the idea of anyone approving of Johnson's play.

he did have 9.5 sacks last year and is only 31. Rather have him than Rogers 6'4" 250

Not just this year, dude's been invisible for 2-3 years now. He was GB's version of Ware but the production has really dropped off the last few years. Kampman brings more pressure for em now.

Looks at quoted information above....uhhh...no. Wrong. Even with Kampman on the otherside 9.5 sacks is hardly anything to sneeze at.

I guess Strahan was invisible last year for the Giants too since both Osi and Tuck had more sacks then him.

isnt it funny when people have to be a jerk instead of just replying with their opinion.

and I agree with you. I like spencer and I thought our defense played pretty well up front down the stretch with ware, spencer and ellis leading the way last year.

Hopefully he plays alot of snaps tomorrow and makes a difference.

but I am all for more pass rushers on this team. I hope we take two more in the draft next year!

Wow. And why do you think that?

I'm sure their unhappy with his play. We know Jerry is. I know you don't but it amazes me how some people here think the staff is stupid and doesn't know anything about football esp compared to them.
