Looks at quoted information above....uhhh...no. Wrong. Even with Kampman on the otherside 9.5 sacks is hardly anything to sneeze at.

I guess Strahan was invisible last year for the Giants too since both Osi and Tuck had more sacks then him.

He's a body out there, sure. I mean he's got a pulse. And warm blood flowin through his veins.

Last year was an OK year for him compared to the previous year, when he had 6 sacks. And the year before that, when he had 8, or ONE in every two games of the regular season.

But he's not the same KGB he was a few years ago.

Guys got 9 tackles and .5 sacks this year playing in only seven games. Compared to Kampman, his mate on the opposite side of the line, who has 25 tackles and 6 sacks.

For a short time he was Ware's caliber, he's not that anymore.

GKB sucks he would be just like Ellis are we seriously entertaining the idea of add a DE that would have to convert to OLB mid season ???

Could you imagine the whining Greg Ellis would do if they signed KGB...

If they were to bring him in he would be a pass-rusher only. He would line up opposite of Ware and everyone in the stadium would know he's coming. He could work as a situational player. I'd take him over Rogers anyday.

Spencer may not be the pass rusher that Ware is but when he's in there he sures up his side of the line. He's good against the run and pass, when Ellis is in there it's a disaster unless he's pressuring the qb.

I just don't believe that an aging KGB, even fully healthy, is an upgrade over a fully healthy Spencer. When he's actually out there, the kid plays very well.

9 sacks is more than a fully healthy Spencer had last season, but we're not even talking about a fully healthy Spencer anyway. Spencer is coming off an injury and no one knows how gimpy or healthy he will be. If you recall, Spencer got hurt in the AZ game and he was coming back from an injury he suffered in TC.

Healthy or not, Dallas could use SOMEBODY to spell Ware and Ellis. KGB, if healthy, has skins on the wall. I don't see how any fan of this team would not want to improve the D, even if it is just to add another LEGIT pass rusher to give Ware a blow for a series or two.

KGB is done. Teams don't let go of pass rushers like this unless they can't play anymore.

Maybe, maybe not. Would have to actually work him out to confirm.

I'm not against working him out, but I think the odds are that our staff would find that he's no longer a capable player.

Good thing we have actual experts who can confirm or deny this AFTER they work him out.

I thought last year Spencer did a pretty good job as a rookie. He hasn't had much of a shot this year to do anything. But he did look good when he was healthy and playing on a weekly basis.

Yeah, cuz he's hurt all the freakin' time. Which is exactly why I'd be all for bringing KGB in.

I mean, would it be so bad to have FOUR good pass rushing OLBs (if Spencer even qualifies as such)?

Packers release DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)—The Green Bay Packers released Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, the franchise sacks leader, on Saturday.

The defensive end had been with the team for nine seasons and appeared in 124 games, starting 74.

He had 74 1/2 sacks for Green Bay, passing Reggie White’s 68 1/2 in 2007.

General Manager Ted Thompson issued a statement Saturday, thanking Gbaja-Biamila for his contributions and wishing him well.

Gbaja-Biamila also issued a statement, saying his time with the team has been a “blessing that is beyond words.”

The team also activated defensive tackle Justin Harrell from the physically unable to perform list.

Anyone know why? Just for not performing this year or what?
Canty
Spears
KGB

Which two work better? Mid-season I'd say stick w/ what we have, but hearing so much on here about Canty/Spears not doing a good enough job...I'd say why not. Question is, do we have the depth at other positions to be able to sign/make room for him?

KGB would have to play OLB for us not DE.

We have three pass rushers not including the DL. And right now we can't afford to drop any players off the roster. Who are you going to drop off the roster to put him on? Unless he's going to play STs then we can't afford to weaken STs any more.

Spencer and Ellis are fine rushing the passer.

After this game I wouldn't mind looking at him. I could see him replacing Bowen perhaps but if Bowen plays ST someone has to take his place.

My question is why would they release him. My guess is some off field problem has occured which in today's environment forced his departure. I don't know that but it would be a concern.

KGB has been hurt all year. He has not been the same since he hurt his knee before last years Cowboys game. He was used exclusively as a pass rusher and could not get any pressure. The Packers have a young kid drafted inthe 3rd round this year they like and a couple of young DEs with better speed that they did not want to lose. The youngest team in the league just got younger with KGBs release.

Classy Classy guy tho. Incredible farewell speach to the Packers.
