Packers vs. Cards Thread

Did the Cowboys even attempt a shovel pass all year? You are correct, there is no way Garrett/Linehan would have come up with anything other than plain old vanilla play calling there. Garrett would have settled for a FG there.

We called a similar play vs NYG on Sun night in 2014.

I hate Green Bay but it's only because I admire their organization, their team, and their coaches.

Wasn't there talk of Garrett bringing Capers down at one point?

I admire them, but at the same time kind of resent them for being so lucky.

The thing that has kept them competitive is that they've had two all-time caliber franchise QBs in a row. Their teams and coaching staffs aren't particularly well built, and it shows when they face playoff competition most years.

Really surprised at Arians not going for it on 4th down.but ultimately the right call.

If anyone has NFL Network, Im making a call right now.

Roddy White's Visual presence, lexicon and stature is best suited for the telegraph. My god, whose idea was it to have him on TV

Being a Pitt alum, I'm glad Fitz had a great game and won. What a game.

The shovel pass was genius. If that was Garrett, he'd have gone power formation for no gain on 1st and 2nd down and then a low-percentage fade throw

If you actually paid attention instead of incessantly whining, you would know that that exact same play is in our playbook and Witten has scored on more than one occasion with it.

But don't let the truth get in the way of wadding your panties.

It was actually a TD.

Ok thanks. Maybe I'm a year off. I believe it was vs. NYG. I recall trying that play unsuccessfully and the commentators saying we were trying to be too cute by not giving it to Murray.

It's a valid argument. In the end they will likely have been blessed with 30 straight years of HOF QB play and great QB play covers up a lot of sins in terms of coaching and personnel.

Considered 5 of of the last 20 years a Packer QB won the NFL MVP, just winning 2 Superbowls in that timespan is something of a disappointment.

2 SBs in 20 years? i remember when Cowboys won 3 in 4 years before the curse.

I was is no way indicating that 2 Superbowls in 20 years when the team has been in the playoffs 17 or 18 of those years and reached the NFC Championship 5 of those years AND had the NFL's MVP 5 of those years is a positive. In the grand scheme of things, I think it has to be looked at as something of mild disappointment.
