We had more than enough stupid penalties last night. Adding to it isn't helping. As long as we're complaining, he could have had a TD if he ran behind his blockers rather than in front of them. The punter and the guy behind them wouldn't have been in a position to tackle him.

He really didn't blow it. The penalty doesn't cause a loss of downs, just 5 yards. So instead of a 24 yard return, they got a 19 yard return. He shouldnt be doing it, but hardly a horrendous penalty that killed a return.

besides, he said he did it because he was mad at himself for getting stopped by the punter...not to show out or anything

I'm absolutely positive that AJones knows a little more about returning punts and kicks than you do, seeing as how he's returned them for TDs before on multiple occasions...

and he didn't spike the ball, that's a different penalty. he got excited and skipped the ball across the feild, much like anyone could do before that incredibly stupid rule was put in place, and got called for delay of game.

I never put too much stock in these games.

Most teams just try to execute different play situations. So execute, some don't.

But I agree, no reason to continue to try and make that point.

Speaking on the OP, Preseason aside, I don't think this is a mistake he will make again. It seems as if it was more reactionary that intentional.
