Pacman a Cowboy! ***Mega Merge***

I am happy that this is done with. Now, if we trade our two 1st round picks for Roy, we better be getting a 2nd rounder back from them. Then you are looking at a DB (S or CB) and RB in the 2nd round.

Well, I hope there are a lot of instances where you don't get to cheer this season, like TO and Pacman crossing the goal line on several occassions. While jumping up and down celebrating, I will think of good ole Kangaroo and how his silence must be deafening.:laugh1:

If you know the truth I doubt Pacman makes much of an impact this year. He is not going to be reinstated until about the time of Training camp and he has been away from the game for over a year and that includes film study etc

Guys that have been away from the game not due to injury tend to struggle and I expect him to not play nearly as well as people think he will

couldnt disagree more...in fact he'll probably be allowed to start working out with the team before reinstatement anyway, so its likely he'll be in good shape when we do go to camp...the guy isnt going to be out of shape...it isnt like he forgot how to workout or play football

What the hell, Jerry is an idiot for paying that much.

The Titans basically got exactly what they wanted. We went from a 7th, to a 6th and a player to a 4th and a conditional. They barely budged on a player they wanted to get rid of, and we bent over backwards to give them what they wanted.

Fantastic.

Pac hasn't played football in a year, if you guys are expecting him to pick up where he left off, you've got another thing coming.

My thoughts exactly! So what if Jones is a former #6 pick. His history of screwing up tossed all that out the window. Man, we had the Titans right where we wanted them. I mean, they had NO other takers on this guy. All Jerrah had to do was wait them out, and they would have taken whatever he demanded. After all, it would be better than nothing, and there was no way they wanted to go into camp with this guy. So, they had to get this deal done before Saturday.

Man, for a wheeler dealer, Jerrah scr***d the pooch on this one. There had better be plenty of insurance clauses in there to protect us from getting left with nothing but another court case.

Returning punts is probably more instinct than anything, so he can help us right away in that area. At CB, he will have to learn the Cowboys defense and get back into football shape, but it shouldn't be a problem. It's not like we need him to save the day or anything. We need him to make a contribution on special teams and as a third corner. There's no reason why he can't do that this season.

I dunno if someone has said this before, but I put myself on this situation:
There is a CB on any draft on the fourth round like pacman, with all his off-the field issues, wouldnt you take it? I would, well, lets assume dallas has just done that...
Yeah I know that there is another pick if he succeed, but... if he succeed, dallas is a real REAL contender (again) this year.

just reported that if Pacman is not reinstated this year, the Cowboys get a 4th round draft pick from the Titans next year..

This deal is looking better by the hour..

Yeah, it's really hard not to like this deal. Jerry did great on this one. He hedged his bets, and it's a no-lose situation. It's a high percentage gamble.

Say what you will about his character, but no one on this board will deny PacMan's talent. If he keeps his personal life straight, Newman on one side and PacMan on the other, that is head and shoulders the best corners in the league.

Now if we could just move Anthony Henry to safety ... ;)

my bro is such an anus.....and luckily i know him well enough to not believe him, but sometimes he actually says the truth, so it is hard to know when he is actually joking.....

basically he told me he heard on the radio that Dallas traded Crayton and Hurd for PacMan......Since I had no access to the media, I didn't know if he was talking out of his butt or not.....like i said, he usually jokes about things like this, but there have been times when he was telling the truth.

So while I was pessimistic about what he was telling me.....at the same time I wasnt too upset that we were giving up Crayton and Hurd for PacMan.....they need WRs and we needed a corner.....plus it would mean that we could draft Sweed at 22....

Well anyway.....I have since found that my brother was yanking my chain as usual....

I am disappointed that we may lose 2 picks for PacMan.....but if he turns out to be the punt returner he was in Tennessee and also is a solid nickel CB.....then it wont bother me.

Well....lets wait to we hear all the details...

The conditional pick we give up to the Titans next yr if Pac is reinstated hasnt been leaked yet.

Some on the Titans board says it could go as high as a 2nd rounder next year.

If these rumours are true then Jerry is a idiot for doing this deal.

If the rumours that its a 4th and a 6th next year then I can live with it.

Supposely....again from a titan board....the shooter will or could confess that Pacman did pay for the hit.......then we may never see Pacman on the field again.

I'm glad it's over and if he plays, yeah it's for something else next year as well, but it probably wont be more than another 4. If he plays, and gives us what we need at PR and CB then it's going to be worth it.

Its suppose to be a 6th and the Cowboys have two of those next year.

We flat-out raped the Titans on this deal. If Pac plays anywhere close to what he did, he is worth a 4 and a 6th next year. If Pac never sees the field, we will in all likelyhood, MOVE UP in the 4th round next year.

Total risk-free trade by Jerry, I kinda feel bad about abusing the Titans that way....NOT:laugh1:

Acquiring PacMan aside (which I wasn't in favor of), the Cowboys will likely get three conditional draft picks for losing Julius Jones, Nate Jones and Jacquez Reeves.

If any of them get significant playing time, especially Jones if he somehow does in Seattle what he couldn't do here, we could be looking at a conditional 3rd round pick.

So who cares if we have to give up a sixth round next year?

I thought it would take a fourth round pick to get PacMan. But those are a dime a dozen.

The Cowboys have two No. 1s, a No. 2 and a No. 3. They can easily trade down and recoup a No. 4. Besides, the Cowboys No. 4 is at the bottom of the round.

Whoever we're trading with, if they give us a No. 4, it's going to be higher than the Cowboys anyway.

Relax. This was a great deal.
