Roy Williams out trade? Move Henry to FS and Hamlin to SS. At this point move on with Roy, Phillips Safety vision is in line more with ball hawking guys than can cover space.

I'll take a 3rd tomorrow and a 2nd next year.

Who know Nors, you might onto something. With the comments today of moving Henry to safety, and we know it won't be to SS, that would leave Hamlin vs Williams for SS.

Man, can you imagine a backfield of Newman, Jones, Henry, and Hamlin with Jenkins playing in the nickel?

2nd and 3rd for RW??? HAHAHA thats funny. Wed be lucky to get a 5th for him.

I just don’t get the Henry to safety thing. I mean that is a completely different position that you want the guy to learn at this stage of his career. I rather use Henry as the 3rd corner to help him stay healthy and keep his legs fresh. And unless we drafted Phillips i don’t see how we can get rid of Roy. We already lost Davis. We lost 2 corners and upgraded with 2 better corners, that’s all we did.

He started his career at cleveland as a safety so he would not be learning something new.

Its not uncommon that corners like Henry excel later in career moving to FS - He has ballhawking skills and that can really translate to FS. His days as a corner with injuries and age may be numbered. He may even have played safety earlier in career.

Thats a solid CB top 3

I was talking about this same thing this afternoon. That's scary to think I agree with Nors thinking.:)

Didn't Henry have 10 INTs one year as a FS?

I'm sorry...did his cap hit suddenly become smaller? Did he sign a smaller deal that I didn't know about?

No? Then forget the trades of Roy to anyone. We're not going to take that cap hit anymore tomorrow than we would have 2 months ago.

I say take the cap hit now, so he is off the books next year. Waste of a spot on the field.

I'll take the cap hit or keep him on the roster as a Special teams player and nickel LBer.... His days as a full time NFL Safety are behind him - in Dallas.
He was benched late last year some.

Braveheart is right guys. We won't take that hit. They'll hope that Campo can turn him around. This year is IT for Roywillie in Dallas. Get it done or leave Roy. Pretty simple really.

So take an old, slow, injury prone cornerback and make him take on lineman, fullbacks and tight-ends in the running game? He can barely cover 10 yards but he will excel covering half the field? Henry would be on the IR after the second game.

salary cap hit is too big to trade Roy Williams.

He was a nickel back, not a safety.

Thought I heard the same thing as well.

Any event, being a FS requires the ability to hit and get up from it. Henry probably wouldn't make it a whole season as a FS.

Wow, were you guys here when he was signed? He played safety at Cleveland. This isn't the first time moving Henry to safety has been proposed.....:bang2:

The way he has played the last 2 seasons, I wouldnt mind seeing them just dump his salary.

I actually don't think he played safety. I checked some of the gamebooks at NFL.com and not once did I see him starting at FS.

Granted I didn't check everyone one, checked a few from each of his seasons in Cleveland but none had him starting at FS.

Were YOU here when he signed? Henry has never started an NFL game at FS. He was a nickel back for 1 season in Cleveland and then a starting CB for a couple years before coming here.
