The Browns were desperate to get rid of him. Mayfield didn’t want to be there and it would’ve been a very awkward locker room situation. The Browns could’ve traded the number one overall pick in 2018 and still got Josh Allen.

I think the browns gonna have a top 10 pick next season, Mayfield gave them a better chance than any backup they have now. Who knows how long Watson will be suspended, they have a talented team and with no qb, it looks like it's going to be wasted.

True, now they have the Watson situation where they could be without him for the year and little behind him. Mayfield played with a bad shoulder all year and the year before did what no other Brown QB has been able to do in a while which was to get them to the playoffs. I don't blame Mayfield for not wanting to be where he was unwanted
