Panthers Defense

Is legit in the rankings.

Let's see how they do vs our weapons.
So far they held the saints to 7, the Jets somehow got 14 points, and they held the Texans to 9 points also.

They aren't holding us below 20. None of those offenses are legit.

I remember in 2016, when we played the Packers, they had the #1 run defense. They were giving up less than 3 yards a carry. We ran for almost 200 yards averaging 6 YPC.
We might not do as well but I have a feeling we will average more than what the Panthers run defense is currently giving up (2.6 YPC).

Could be, like most any game it will come down to matchups. If Dallas can run behind Martin a lot they might do well there, and with both Zeke and Pollard running the ball the Panthers can't concentrate on one runner...

They've played 2 rookie QBs and The Saints were missing EIGHT coaches and key players when they played them also.

The Saints literally had their 3rd string rookie QB making the substitutions during the game.
They had Paytons personal assistant on the headset.

They are panther fans lol
Fans are not the best indicator of how good a team is
They seem to have some talent on defense but they’ve played some easy teams and the Saints at the right time
CMC being out is gonna be huge
I predict we get 4 sacks on them and a turn over
are you referring to Cowboy fans or Panther fans.

I just finished watched high lights of the Panthers Oilers game.
We are going 3-1. There defense is good. Houston moved the ball with a rookie QB. Mills is pretty good. Im not buying the Panthers hype We win Sunday

Key words.....speed endurance....something you don't need at 40 yards, something you must have at 100 meters.

The 40 takes no training, the 100m is all about training.
Fwiw, I think the 40….or even the 20 yard shuttles…..are far more relevant to the NFL than the 100m

Chris Johnson had the blazing 40 (4.24) and 100 (10.38)

Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing Hubbard play well in a Panthers loss
:flagwave:

Dallas is at home and is the favorite.

Not many people are picking Carolina in this one, so Im not sure what people are talking about when saying way overhyped.

This will be a very big test for the offense, as the Bucs and Chargers were tests for the Defense.

Our offense is going to be the biggest test they have had all season. They could be legit but also faced Zach Wilson, Davis Mills, and Winston, who is shown that he can have great and productive, games but has also shown that he can have games where he plays poorly and is a turnover machine. It's like how the WFT's defense gets hyped up in the media as a dominant defense. But, when they play elite offenses and good QBs, they have the ball moved on them rather well and show that they can easily be scored on at times.

Time for exposure,,, over exposure.
Even str8 up vs Panthers I believe this team would win, but their best weapon CM is out,, probably for multiple weeks with hammy.
Panthers without CM is like the Cowboys without Zeke and Pollard.

Actually saw a Panthers fan say that the Cowboys offense would not score more than 13 points. As I said, their defense could very well be legit, but I think that Panthers fans are getting too overconfident and arrogant considering the QBs they have faced so far.

3 words...."Run Forest, Run".

Like Troy said. Pass more in the first half and then pound the ball in the second half. That's how he used to win games. Of course his Oline and running back were primo.

Absolutely. I expect they have a good defense, but they played two absolute trash teams and Winston. Give me a break.

Derrick Brown is the key to this game IMO. He's kind of Vita Vea lite, and neither Biadasz or Cwill deal well with elite power. He could similarly force us into a pass heavy gamescript we don't want to be in by just caving in double teams all day.

Early in the year there are usually always teams that are overrated, and teams that are underrated, usually based on who they played. For teams to start off 3-0 and end up 6-10 is hardly unheard of.
Of course there are always also teams like the 1991 Cowboys, who weren't supposed to be but a bit better than the year before but really "blossomed". Hopefully the Panthers are the 1990 Cowboys, not the 1991 Cowboys...

I totally agree, the 20 is actually more important than any other distance for football, the 100m not important at all other than kick returners.

I have my doubts about a 4.24 for Johnson. That just doesn't figure since his 100m was just 10.38. 4.2 guys are more sub 10.10.

Johnson's 4.24 was at the NFL combine and was duplicated.

But your hunch was right in that his 100 should be faster.
I dug a little deeper.
His best recorded 100 was way back in high school ....and was 10.22. (so that 10.38 was off)
But he was only 18 years old
He had injuries in college and did not run college track.

He was 22 or 23 at the NFL combine and had developed a lot in the 4-5 years.

I suspect if he trained for and ran a 100 at that age he very well wouldve been sub 10.10

If he would have got serious about track he's a 400m cat, tailor made for that distance with that stride. Curious now if he ran that distance in HS, hmmm?

I knew about his 100m prowess but never really bought into the times I was reading. I have seen him play many times, that is not a 10.2 guy, BUT,...he could have been a lot/dramatically lighter in HS.

A 10.22 in HS back in his day is just too fast, that is cooking for a HS kid.
