So, here are my current 10-point observations:

1) We are not eliminated until we are eliminated
- you can't win the SB if you aren't in the playoffs - anything can happen - no doubt about it, this was an elimination game, and Washington is now eliminated
2) We are not chasing Philly, we are chasing Seattle, Atlanta, and the loser of NO/Car this weekend
- must hope for wins this week by Philly, Minny, and Balt (against Detroit)
3) Was giddy when they drafted Awuzie (would have been ok if they picked him in the 1st)
- he looked pretty good with having little to no game experience; his name was called during the game A LOT in a positive way; can't wait to see his continued progression
4) Was VERY happy to see the kids all playing well in the secondary
- the changing of the guard started with the off-season purge, next up: scandrick
5) Not sure but was that a coaching decision to play frazier? he was ah'ite in there last night; Pants needs to see more
- see #3 and #4 above; perhaps when the coaches thought they couldn't do worse, so why not start the kids, it worked out in this game - perhaps a preview of 2018 in the secondary
6) Coaching - lack thereof
- the most telling "stat" I have heard recently is that of all of the current coaches in the league that have been with their team as long as garrett, all of them, ALL, have either won a SB or coached in one....clap for that Jones
7) Marinelli is done, old, antiquated, methuselah, etc
- nice guy, time to get into the 2020's, and get away from the 1920's
8) Still no holding calls that were accepted - now at 38 quarters, unless I missed one
- yeah, I fell off of my chair when they called a hold on Wash (not accepted); this is a rag-tag group of back-ups to the back-ups that we were playing against, you have the league's leading sack man, and yet, no holds....whatever...move on refs, Zeke got his suspension
9) 10 days off
- my God, 10 days off (technically, 17 since the Geno-nts are the next opponent) after a win is MUCH better than after a loss (for the team AND, more important to me, for Pants)
10) I still have little hope for the playoffs and even less hope that they will change the coaching situation, but I will be watching a week from sunday to see how they do against the Giants

You know I always have a lot to say after games, some brilliant takes on the team, but I just can't think of a username clever thread title.

How about "RISENSTARting to show some promise"?

what was wrong withthe defense tonight?

I think it was more that the kids played and did well....where was that thought process earlier in the year? why wait until the season was almost over? I know awuzie was injured...but, the secondary finally starting playing more man coverage and that is their strength...so, it looked to me like it was finally but marinelli "fine, put them in and we won't do cover 2, this one is on you...) (whoever "you" is)

I'll give you conservative but I see a great teacher and motivator. I cringe like all of us when the CB is playing ten-15 yards off his man.
When everybody is playing right its effective.

We aren't chasing Philly... a point well taken. Atlanta, Carolina & Seattle are the teams we need to see lose if we are to get past them in the playoff hunt. We play Seattle in week 16 and Philly plays them this week, so they shouldn't be a hard obstacle to overcome. It's Atlanta and the Panthers that we have to rely on someone else to beat... hear me Minnesota.

As much as I dislike this coaching staff, good job for going with the young pups in the secondary.

The one holding call they did call was not even a good one. I saw tons of blatant holds, and one in which two Washington players were holding the same guy (think it was Irving) when he busted through the line. When you're arm barring a defensive lineman from BEHIND him, that's a hold! Of course, they could have called holding on 3/4 of Washington's plays. There was a big one on the Cousin's scramble play that netted them 34 yards, right in front of the refs. I don't know guys - I thought this might be bias but now I think it might just be a mandate from the league to reduce any calls that slow down the games. Right now they can't afford any flag fests. Of course, it might also be that the refs are inept.
