That is surely creepy. What makes it so intense was I recall feeling very awake when I experienced it. It wasn't some dream state where I had one foot in each world. Definitely something I will never forgot.
That's gotta be a helpless feeling...Creepy as anything I've ever experienced!

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I had a very suffocating feeling like I could barely breath. Was that your experience too?

From what I've read, that's symptomatic of the condition.

I had that experience once, in the house I'm currently in. I had all those symptoms. I think it's a misfiring in the brain where you're semi-conscious but still dreaming and the mechanism for paralysis while sleeping is still active, hence you feeling unable to move. If we didn't have that mechanism, sleeping would be a lot more dangerous.

I'm not sure what causes it, but it's an interesting phenomenon. It sucks while you're having it, that's for sure. That feeling of something malevolent right there with ill-intent toward you is staggering, nightmare/dream or not.

Not sure I have that mechanism. I sometimes wake up with my face at the other end of the bed and my covers and/or sheets looking like I got wrapped up by a spider.

lol, everyone has it to some extent, but it's stronger in some than others...and I don't know how it works with sleepwalkers. That doesn't count normal tossing and turning in sleep either... But it's why people don't punch their spouse in the face when they dream about throwing a punch.

My brother once had a dream that his daughter (a baby at the time) was falling off the foot of the bed. When he sat up to grab for her, he didn't have enough momentum, so he threw his elbows back and caught his wife smack in the face. He was about 240 of solid muscle at the time........It's okay though, she deserved it...for something.

...but what if you’re the paranormal experience? Then what? Nobody ever does want to talk about that part...nope it’s always blame it on the other monster or spirit....what if I’m the reason I’m dancing around under the moon, and not the neighbors dog I claim to be a werewolf influencing me? See...no one ever wants to go there. Well I am a werewolf,as is her dog... and Edna next door can go shove it,because me and him have no intentions of stopping howling. Yeah, she’s mad ‘cause I make him howl, and scratch at the door to be let outside at night. Well, sorry lady, but what the hell did she think bringing a werewolf in to live with her as a “pet” anyways? ...

We just recently had a "news" story over blown about a ghost at our new casino in our area. Turns out it's just an app that puts a ghost into your pictures for you. Gosh the "news" is a joke nowadays. No credibility. No fact checking just you heard it here first folks!!

That reminds me of a story I heard about. It happened in 2005 in an Oklahoma Impound yard..That day there was a fatal accident and they took the wrecked cars to the impound yard...that night, this was on the camera (according to the yard and news station):

If one of the people in the fatal crashes was Ashton Kutcher, maybe....."Dude, where's my car?"

One time Garrett looked at me straight with those crazy eyes and I made the mistake of looking back. It was like staring into an abyss, a morass of stupidity and mediocrity and just general garbage. Just darkness with no ray of light, just stupidity with no shred of sense at all. It was horrific. I broke out into a cold sweat and I remember thinking................nothing

absolutely nothing

that was my one paranormal experience

Scary, I know

I grew up in SW La. One Friday night my girlfriend and her brother and my best friend headed to East Texas because we had heard about the Saratoga Light. I think it was also called the Bragg light. The story goes that the road is eight miles long and many years ago it used to have a railroad track down the road with a hotel right in the middle of the eight mile stretch. One night the hotel manager took a lantern out and went out looking for some cattle. He was supposedly hit and killed by the train. The mans body was found but never found his head. The story goes on that on any given night you can go down the road and you will see a train light coming down the road and also see the mans lantern swinging from side to side as he is looking for his head. We arrived on the road one night where it was pitched black. We traveled down the road several times without seeing anything. Finally on one of our trips down the road we saw a light in the distance. The light continuted to get brighter as it got closer. We thought it was just another car coming out way. We got out of the car and sat on the front watching the light. The light kept getting brighter and brigher and all our thoughts were that this looks like a train light. The light stopped maybe 25 yards in front of us and just hung there in the middle of the road. As it stopped there, a red light began swinging from side to side underneath the white light. We all looked at each other and wondering if we were all seeing the same thing. A few seconds later, the red light went out and the white light shot toward us and over our heads and then went out. We piled in the car in 2 seconds, hit the gas and were 20 minutes away before anyone said anything. To this day, we all saw the same thing exactly as described. We have no idea what it was but it was not someone playing a prank. Scared us silly.

currently been working at our church as a janitor for the last 18yrs.....3 part-time....last 15 full-time.
I'm convinced our church is haunted....
•sat in our worship center one night waiting to clean-up after an event in another part of our church.....just to kill time.
I didnt turn the lights on....just enjoying the quiet.....then it started sounding like folks were getting up out of the pews, walkin' around.
reminded me of how that building sounds pre-service.
•Ive been put back on weekend/night rotation due to budget cuts.....so the last 3 friday nights I've had 3 fascinating things occur.
while cleaning up after a nighttime event...I saw a guy in a white t-shirt pass by in the hallway. It stopped me mid-clean up.....walked out in the hall saying "can I help you"....no one.
walked halfway around the bldg....nothing.
same thing occured again...this time after a saturday event.....then,this week....one of the other guys on our crew said he saw it one friday night when he was cleaning....
•one friday night....while mopping a bathroom...as I came out....I heard some one say "hey".....like in a whisper....right in my ear...I immediately looked behind me because it was so clear and so close......nothing.

For a while I was being visited nightly by a ghost. She was dressed in a bridal gown and had an 80s hairdo. Her face and the top of her dress were all covered in blood and she had a very angry look on her face. She looked really real. As soon as I would turn on the lights, she would vanish. This started when I started using some new meds, so it could have been hallucinations from those meds. Still it was unsettling.

Years ago, late night driving home on an isolated stretch of road no other traffic..

Glanced at the clock while sitting at the stop light it was a little past 11pm

Just as I crossed the river a bright light / meteor / ufo flashed from
behind me to the horizon in front right down the path of the road but I was traveling.

It briefly lit up the entire sky almost like daylight.

Pulled up to the next light and was sweating and a little spooked from the event.

When I pulled away from the stop light it was almost midnight.

The distance between those two lights is about two miles

That's a season 1 episode of X-Files.

I grew up in a very rural part of New Jersey, and my mother had a second job as a waitress a couple of towns away. Between her job and our house there was a remote stretch of reservoir, where there were stories about frequent ufo sightings.

One night on her way home, around midnight, she was crossing a bridge over the reservoir, when her car suddenly slowed down, came to a stop, and started going in reverse.

She freaked out, slammed on the brakes, put it in park, and got out. Before long a man drove up and stopped to help. Upon getting under the car, he discovered the transmission linkage was screwed up.

The only thing paranormal I ever experienced was lucid dreaming and an out of body experience.

I wish I would lucid dream more often, they're awesome.
I had an out of body experience several times when I was dating a smoking hot Wiccan chick that performed crystal rituals over me while I was sleeping.I would've broken up with her but she looked like Stevie Nicks.

Damn, This is my 10.000th post.

LOL........ 10.000 is still 10.

You've done a little better then that.
