And gets it from me. I definitely wanted to bench Bledsoe, but I never thought Parcells would have the guts to do it. I don't think it has been commented enough how hard this must have been for Parcells - he is a loyal coach, and especially has a respect for Bledsoe. He has hitched his wagon to Bledsoe quite a bit, both in NE and here, and no doubt it was a tough personal decision to do this.

However, Parcells showed me that he DOES in fact see some things at the QB position, a fact that i seriously doubted, and has made a decision based on play. I have no idea how Romo will play - no one does, but Parcells gets a big thumbs up from me for making a tough decision, even if a few games late.

He deserves nothing. He should have done it a year ago. His loyyality to older vets has really hurt this team. He WAS a great coach, but just like Bledsoe, his time is up.

Romo wasn't ready last year. He looked night and day better in preseason this year over last year.

Although I think it should have been done Week 1.

You made my point. He should have signed Delhomme or Brees or drafted someone- we have not had a QB since Aikman. Parcells is old, time has passed.

Why would you question his guts? He may be stubborn but he's never lacked guts. You could argue his stubboness is rooted in not giving a $hit what others think.

Hmmmmm so Jerry has nothing to do with who gets signed? Excuse me but thats Jerry's list of QBs I typed. I'm not excusing Parcells from any thing but the one thing he did do was try to develope a QB.

some of you people, just can't give credit where credit is due. Now, Bill has made some mistakes with this team and still is, mainly not having a very good staff. But you can't dismiss the talent he has brought to this team, we are in great shape right now.. except maybe a few positions. He IS a great talent evaluation guy.. and is respected around the league for it, If Bill says they can play, they can,, if he says they can't,, no team wants them. Look at Henson for an example if you need one.

Now I fault Bill for his lack of bringing in the best coach's out there to help this team win.. but not for his personall decisions,, not one of them.

I agree with you about his ability to evaluate talent. He's one of the best. He's never been a good x's and o's coach though. He only won when he had great assistants. He doesn't have them here.

Bedsore is benched, and those clamoring for Romo are going to get the remainder of the season to see what he is capable of. And if he ends up failing the test, look for a trade up draft pick for QB.

Those who wanted Bledsoe gone are those that now want Parcells gone, seem to just want quick results and quick Ws. There is no pleasing them. If you have your way again whose next? Jerry Jones? What if Romo throws more INTs than touchdowns, will you still support him? I don't want the cowboys to go where the Commanders went, switching head coaches every year because they want those Quick Results. Just be patient and the team will get in the grove, Parcells has the ability its already proven, he might have faith in his Vets, but thats only until his reputation becomes diminished because of them. Remember, 26-23?? is better then 3 consecutive 5-11 seasons, probably seasons where those who want quick results just pretend their not a cowboy fan anyway.

Totally agreed.

As I said in another thread, this decision *may* be six or so games late. It's not, however, one or two years late.

Starting Romo last season would have been disastrous. Heck, he wasn't even viewed by most fans (self included) as a potential future guy. People here would have laughed at starting Romo over the fan favorite, Henson.

Parcells' decision to sit Bledsoe pleases me a great deal. I feel this is a good move for the "now" and for the "future" -- even if Romo doesn't pan out. We need to know, and Bledsoe was clearly taking us nowhere.

I had really felt that this year was it for Bill...winning or losing season. And also that it is time to go....Bill looked as tired and drawn on the sidelines in mid October as he used to in late December.

But perhaps the engrossing task of developing Tony will give him new energy, and he'll stick around to see it through...perhaps through the 2007 season.

I really don't know what's 'best' for Parcells (tho I think hanging up the gloves is wise...it's, as Bill himself said many times, "a young man's game"), but what's best for the head coach and the team by definition should coincide.

The Romo decision seems to be in the interests of both. It isn't a 'job saving' move for Bill (it may indeed be a job ending one), but Tuna, like the team itself, seems to badly need that extra 'spark' that Romo can provide.

I agree with his decision also. Bledsoes lack of pocket awareness is documented for many years, through many coaches, and he it just doesn't click well with the line- teams see it thats why we were humiliated once again this Monday. There was something about him which made the team play slow in the first half, and most recently it just feels like we are heading into games to play catchup. He might not be best for the teams morale. But with Romo we have the unknown to look forward too, which can be a pleasant surprise or a disaster. I'm nervous to see if Romo is able to avoid that impusle to throw into dangerous situations.

Parcells wanted him, they invited him to Dallas, and they had agreed to a deal. But when Jake came here he asked for another million, thats when Bill said NO

He does deserve some credit but this move should have been made over the bye week.

what has Delhomme done without Steve Smith....he's just a guy. They'd better hope the hammies hold up.

Brees was a gamble for the Saints that paid off.

Parcells gets no credit from me... I will say this Drews play backed him into a corner! People talk about everything but the real issue with DREW.... HE CANNOT READ A DEFENSE he is an immobile QUINCY CARTER!!!

U never see specials on DREW going over tape and spending extra time to contribute to the gameplan or on the sidelines talkng to coaches like Manning or Brady every week! Drew doesnt even call out the "Mike" let- alone defensive fronts.... he has no idea as who is BLITZING when and why (its called film study)!

All he does is that "kill" signal that Sean Peyton put in last year... he doesnt Audible and if he does, he sux at it... he doesnt hit HOT ROUTES unless its for an interception...

why do u think TG and BLEDSOE work so well together.... U have the king of the DBL move catching passes from the guy who cant read a D and holds onto the Ball forever!!!

thank God he is gone!

Bill had no choice... gets no credit from me. We should have 3 or 4 QBs capable of playing!

Since u guys wanna cry about Brees and Delhomme and some of u wanna put Cutler in that mix.... add Matt Scaub to the list, unless however u are a Peterman fan!!!
