Parcells Documentary

Loved what I saw but I thought it was a very poorly constructed documentary.

Covered his 1st season (very well, I might add) then fast-forwarded to the playoff loss at Seattle 3 years later. What the hell?

No mention whatsoever of T.O., Keyshawn or Bledsoe.

No mention at all of the 2004 or 2005 seasons. Quincy Carter's departure and Antonio Bryant's meltdown should've been mentioned.

Or how about Romo getting the job in 2006? How is that left out???

There's just so much gold there and the DC.com filmmakers have access to it all... it feels like they poured in all of this 2003 footage then realized, "Oh crap, we're an hour in and still on his 1st season!" So they slapped something together on the Seattle game and called it a day.

Honestly, this could've worked as a 4-parter, an hour for each of his seasons.

Thought skipping the first Eagles game was a bummer. Eagles owned us for years prior till that game. RW89 taking the onside to the house to start the game and then defense stepping up to preserve the game.

Greatest 8-8 coach we ever had. Also the fattest and a quitter. But don't let that stop you all from slobbering.

The world was a better place when coaches could be like Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells.

Now, they're just glorified babysitters. Guys like Parcells are not accepted today as anything but bullies. Kids are suffering for it.

Let me educate you. It was Jerry Jones forcing Johnson out. Jerry Jones alienating the veteran leadership. Jerry Jones destroying the scouting department. Jerry Jones bombing drafts. Basically Jerry Jones believing he was a football genius.
Total BS if you think Jerry "forced" Jimmy out.
Nobody, including Jimmy, says that's how it was.

And yet we all still love him! See there:)

As an owner, it's his team. Educate that.

What I would give for one of those kind of coaches to coach this team.

I still can't believe Bill coached that 2003 team with Quincy Carter to the playoffs. That team was terrible. And watching romo fumble that snap and show how it affected Parcells, makes me wonder if we win that game how long parcells stays around for.

That was my first and only game I ever saw at Texas Stadium. I was going nuts when we returned that opening kick for TD.

Game became a defensive game after that and came down to a 4th down stop by our defense to end the game. Gutsy blitx call by Zimmer that sent Roy Williams who got in the face of McNabb before he could wind up and throw a good enough pass. That had been the first time in long time that we could stand up to the Eagles.

You're completely wrong here.

It was a documentary about how a legendary coach in advanced age, whom nobody thought could get along with Jerry, was able to take a team coming off three 5-11 seasons, completely change its culture, and get it back to the playoffs in a single season.

His exodus was covered, but that wasn't the point of the documentary. It wasn't a series.

It was incredibly well done, and showed that perfectly.

He was 64 when he left and not in the best of health. His body gave out, not his spirit. He loved Romo, and still does, but he'd been through heart issues before, and I don't think he felt he had the physically ability to get through another season without paying a significant health price.
