Overall, he sucked in the draft. We'd be a much better team now if he hadn't blown it by getting cute and passing on Stephen Jackson and by drafting OL who couldn't make the team on day 1.

Anyone can draft guys like DeMarcus Ware....Parcells did a decent job in rounds 6-7, but if he'd done better in rounds 2-4, maybe some of those decent players he found in rounds 6-7 wouldn't have even made the team.

He did a decent job with the Cowboys, but that's not what he was paid to do for 4 seasons...His legacy with the Cowboys will be a poor one unless we get to the SB in the next two years with the players he drafted leading the way.

Overall, i believe Jerry Jones had the final say over most things, except who played on Sundays.

most likely, but he deferred to Parcells' opinion alot

For me, his inability to make this a playoff winning team far out weighs his so-so drafting record.

Cannot believe the gomers that somehow claim BP sucked in the draft. You look at his picks over 4 years and compare them to any other team over that period and you will find that NOT ONE CLUB DID BETTER. Looking at people still on the roster, starters, contributers, there is NO TEAM IN THE LEAGUE that did better. Any idiot can pick one or two selections that did not work; but anyone DUMB enough to look at it that way is a total MORON.
His first draft he got Witten and Newman= two Pro Bowl players among the best in the league. And then there are the late rd successes and of course ROMO- not even drafted. this roster is so much better then what was here in 2002 that it is not funny. Just about every single position has a better player in it now then in 2002.

the trouble is - who made which pick? who's info pulled the trigger? to say it's all parcells is like the "haters" saying it was all parcells who tanked on the team and we lost in the end.

i think we'll be fine and hopefully ireland is the real deal and we'll know in time.

The first draft BP was pretty clearly in control- and Lacewell was still around.
