After seeing the way Seattle is moving the ball on this bears defense, maybe Parcells isn't so bad. Maybe we just have to bring in a better, I would say old timer type Defensive Coordinator, someone BP will respect the opinions of, so that he will allow him to do his thing.

Also, BP needs to get his OLine fixed, and he should concentrate on that 1st.

most of you here know that jeery loves the spotlight. so he will wait till the week of the super bowl to announce bill is coming back so it gets a ton of coverage. you think jerry does'nt already know what bill is gonna do?
i think jerry wants him back for one more year because after next season cowher,lovie, and fisher could all go free. think about it.
i think jerry wants fisher and knows he will not sign an extension with tenn. so if he can get one more year form bill he can get his man.if he hires a guy this year he can't hire another next year.
i think jerry is waiting for his guy and the right time to announce bill comiong back to get a lot of media attention

Perhaps; if he waits until the Super Bowl to announce Parcells is returning, he also might just get a yawn from the media world rather than a ton of coverage. After all, this will mean no change at the top for a franchise that hasn't won a playoff game in a number of years, and it looks like it took weeks to compose the announcement. It risks looking contrived, and in a sense it would be, considering that sort of timing.

Certainly positive spin will come out of Jones' mouth; I think that's guaranteed given the circumstances.

You may well be correct in your guess, but the impact may be far less than Jones is expecting, if this is his intent but it has nothing blockbuster to go with it.

i'll agree the "shopping spree" is a bit like 2 minutes into free agency and us not signing someone would be considered a horrible twist of fate and we're slackers...drama for the sake of drama talking.

HOWEVER - i also feel that parcells indecision has a direct impact on the team and that's what we saw last year.

coach in limbo, team joins him. all the "well they're paid good $ to play anyway!!!" crap is just that - crap. parcells is paid to coach, not be our own built in soap opera.

whatever drama is caused by this, will be quickly forgotten once offseason programs run around, as BIll will be working them to death and will be in their ear constantly

Isn't anyone else concerned about a guy who's not sure if he wants to coach, and if he does ,it's probably only for one year??

If he comes back ,I'm sure you'll hear about an extension year ,but I believe that will be all for show. He's a lame duck coach.



If JJ is just going to go thru the motions this year with this team and looking for another big name coach in 08 ,I'm not sure how much support this CNY Cowboy can give him.

This is lame. Why are we made to hang out on a tightrope while Bill continues to contemplate what he's going to do??? What has he done here? His seasons have been mediocre. The players and scheme he brought in have been unspectacular. His Big LB theory is weak. (Bradie James...zzz) Give me a smart LB over a big LB anyday.

Why are we being hung out to dry while good prospective coaches continue to interview with other teams? We're not talking about modern day Belichek here.

I just thought I would quote my original post so you can help me figure out where in there I care so much about Parcells. The Team moves on and Parcells will eventually fade into oblivion. He can spare us with all the drama ZZZZZZZ. It's a good thing I am not the owner because I would have fired him weeks ago... Feb 1st deadline my $#@$.

He's clearly not the hands down best man for the job. 4 years of what amounts to 8-8 doesn't impress me. Jerry's just scared to go out on a limb again. He went out on a limb for past his primeo and 4 years later he's looking at a 34-30 record. Color me not impressed.
