Why is BP being so secretative about this ? Why not just say I'm coming back or not ? If he was planning on returning wouldn't he just say he was ? The fact that he hasn't doesn't bode well for us now either way.

His brother died and he has a new GF...Maybe he needs a new perspective on life now. Spend time with family that he has not done in years ?

BP is signed through next year, why is there all of this disscussion about his future if he's already signed ? Where are these rumors coming from ? Why doesn't he just frimly say "Why are you all asking, of course I'll be back"...Why does Jerry sidestep the issue when asked during an interveiw.

Something is up or this wouldn't even be a story.

If I was in BP's shoes, I would be thinking about retirement at least once per minute. I think about it once every 2 minutes right now, and I am less than half his age.

Mort reported it, but so what? The guy is no spring chicken, and it is obvious that he is "thinking about retirement."

Personally, I think BP is playing the media to the fullest. He loves to be the center of attention, and this is one way of doing it. Do you honestly think he is going to come out on national TV with his intentions? Again, he plays the media like a violin.

I agree, but is that in the best interest of the Cowboys ? I like BP, but I am a Cowboys fan 1st. The team is of more importance that BP and his media attentions.

Too me, if he is thinking about, then just do it. Don't leave us hanging, lets build a bridge and get over it. Or should we put this whole thing off another year ?

Agreed

I thought he worked his *** off last off season.

He did, but it's something you have to keep doing and when you fail you try even harder- simple concept.

Captain,

I appreciate the non-bashing approach but the problem I have is that you are relying VERY HEAVILY on speculation. You place the blame on our season finish on the death of his brother. That MAY be the case, and it wouldn't surprise me if it is. But isn't it just as logical that the team was flat against the Rams because they KNEW they couldn't make the playoffs?

There's too much speculation going on around here for me. When BP says he's retiring I'll believe it. I don't personally think he's lost his passion for the game at all. I think it's a draining thing to endure and he's rightly tired.

think about what we get if parcells stays:

1. refusing to play a young qb...........if bledsoe were to go down..guess what?

that's right.. vinny or jeff hostetler or phil simms would be our qb.

2. playing not to lose.

3. every time sean payton calls a play.......he looks at him like "what the hell are you calling that for?"

4. refusing to pull o-lineman who make mistake after mistake after mistake.

5. refusing to play anyone he did not draft or has played for him in the past....no matter the age or how washed up they are.

6. the worst one in my opinion..........changing doomsday to a 3-4.

7. pulling drew henson out at halftime after throwing a interception on thanksgiving last year.........yet will leave vinny and drew and the o-line stay in no matter how many mistakes they make..

8. not addressing the ot situation.

9. not addressing the fs situation.

10. not addressing the kicking situation.

how many of you really want 3 or 4 more years of this crap?

Good afternoon Lane. Glad to see the beer buzz finally wore off. I do see you are picking up where you left off last night.

You guys kill me with some of this bantering. Let me ask a SERIOUS question to those of you who know so much about coaching...and before the baring of teeth starts, let me say that I realize all of our collective opinions add up to a pile of crap,...and that it's all in fun. Having said that... Let's assume that the Cowboys let you choose coaching moves and that Parcells leaves or retires as alot of you wish. Just who do you think that the organization gets and further, what makes you think that your choice would want to caoch in Dallas and most of all, how do know they would be ANY better??? There is a good caoch there now who not only has proven he can win in the past, but has made a marked improvement in this team, despite what many of the "experts" here would say.

Additionally, the "rebuilding" stuff is just pure cago. Sure, every team needs to develop younger talent...especially at leadership positions like QB, but EVERY team's objective EVERY year is to win a superbowl. To scrap three years of Parcells work (which has worked or has been on the brink of working for Most of the games this year) and pick up some clown or college coach with unkown NFL ability is crazy and to those of you who wish that were the case, I can only say I'm glad that you watch instead of participating. Team turn arounds in three years are more anomaly than rule. That hasn't and doesn't happen very often. This team has a good coach and known commodity now. With a FEW changes, you'll be happy he stays (if he does).

1)You have zero idea how many practice reps the backup got. I think it was plainly evident that Bledsoe was the best QB we had on the roster so he was played. Sorry but that is playing to win.

2) He does prefer ball control offense. We were 6-3 in games decided by 4 or less. Sorry but his way was working. I did get frustrated with his refusal to use the pass to open the run tho.

3) This point is worthless. He is hard on his assistants. You should applaud Parcells for relaxing his grip a bit.

4) This is just an example of how you are obviously a malcontent. You complain about him not playing Romo or Henson but then turn around and complain for him doing that which you desire with Pettiti.

You think somehow the young QBs wouldnt be making mistake after mistake? It was pretty obvious that Parcells threw Pettiti to the wolves because he was getting no help. Little abused him. That could have been used as much as a learning experience as anything else.

5) Greg Ellis LaRoi Glover Anthony Henry Al Singleton Larry Allne Flozell Adams Dan Campbell all say hello.

6) Last time I checked our defense sucked last year. Maybe you want to tstay with from something that doesnt work because yoiu wax nostalgic about the 'good ole days' but ill pass.

7) You realize how your contradicting yourself. Henso looked overmatched that game and was getting killed. You seem to forget that Vinny came in and won that game. If not for Julius running wild, Henson would be a smaer on the field.

8)He went with Pettiti and it seemed that after Adams went down and he stopeed getting so much help his confidence dwindled culminatin in that egg he laid against the rams.

Its pretty evident that it is our number one priority heading into free agency but Rogers proved that he was a wuss and Tucker simply played terribly.

9)Davis played better as the season went on. In week 2 you had a point. you dont now.

10) Cundiff got hurt and there werent many options available.

One thing that I do like about Parcelss is that he will adjust. I expect that with him having fixed the defense this past year that he will adjust to the issues on offense.

I agree with him completely. What's more - "not addressing the kicking situation" would've meant staying with Cortez all year. He didn't do that. He brought in Suisham, then Cundiff again, then Suisham again. Do you think he brought in a lesser kicker than he could have? Did he CHOOSE to bring in a crappy kicker? Of course not.

You may not like our kicking situation - God knows I sure don't - but to say he "didn't address it" is just hogwash. Most of your points are, for that matter.

The usual response of someone who has no answer.

Youre already a malcontent but this last response makes you one with no legs to stand on.

If I were Bill, I'd be thinking that it's my decision and noone elses. Everyone can demand and answer, whine and cry, speculate and postulate all they want. The fact is that noone but JJ has a right to ask anything of him.

I'd do the same thing he's doing, were I in his shoes, just to mind**** each and every person that feels they need to be in the know.

But thats just me....

I don't know that I've ever seen come back to a team that has said that "I want to get away from everything for a little while before making my decision..." or words to that effect.

Has anyone else seen that happen? Usually, they leave from what I have seen.
