Parcells tells assistants he needs more time

if my performance at my job was as mediocre as Parcells' has been, not only would I never get a raise, I'd be out on the street looking for a new job...he got nearly a 25% raise last yr after going 9-7...wonder if this years 9-7 is worth another 25%?

I'm told that Bill Parcells told his assistant coaches today that he needed more time to think about his decision.

From what I'm able to gather, it's the first time he's even brought it up with his assistants. He probably felt the need to say something since his assistants are basically in limbo right now.

My thoughts exactly. I am a season ticket holder and my tickets went up two years ago. I understood.

I am not paying the coaches salary so there is nothing I should concern myself with in that regard.

Maybe i'm way off on this but i think Bills'
decision may have to do more about where does
next year and a staff built for the future, ultimatly
workout longterm.I know alot of people are disappointed,
but whatever powers that be,we almost won,and i may be

There are plenty of coaches not worth what they are getting paid.

To me this guy has had four years and not won ONE playoff game..which means he has underperformed. Time for a change.

He's dragging his feet for another reason. Not sure what, but there's something going on.
Hell he's still under contract. It's not like he has to think about taking the job from the get go.

Actually I'm pretty cool with him spending the time the past couple of weeks thinking about how to fix a collapsing defense rather than contemplating retirement plans. Maybe thats just me.

I really doubt Bill gets ANY MORE MONEY. He needs to show the ROI to Jerry this year.

No argument....but what exactly is the point?

There are plenty of coaches not worth what they are getting paid.

No there are not . When this happens they get fired and if they can find a new job at the same salary or better obviously they are worth it to whomever pays it. Worth is defined by who is willing to pay what. Nick Saban didnt win much at Miami but was worth Alabama paying 32 million for. If an owner feels a coach is underperforming ,he fires the guy. If not he stays. Parcells is staying so in the eyes of Jerry Jones hes obviously still worth the money. And Jones is the one who signs the checks.
