OXNARD, Calif. -- Parcells reminded Romo of the QB's decision to sign with the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent.

"I chose Dallas to hopefully make the team,” Romo said. “Bill was instrumental in me getting here. On the phone, he sent me a text after [the contract extension] that [said], ‘I was just wondering if coming to Dallas had worked out for you.’ I had to laugh. It was pretty funny.”

Text?

Are they sure it didn't come by carrier pidgeon?

Whatever happened to picking up the phone and calling someone?

Parcells was awesome. I still can't believe he coached us to the playoffs with Quincy at QB, Hambrick at RB and Antonio Bryant as our most talented WR (did we have galloway that year? maybe glenn?).

Phone calls are sort of a useless time suck.

For some things this is actually true. If you just want to tell someone one thing, making a phone call and have to small talk for 20 minutes just to say it doesn't make much sense.

Somehow Jerry doesn't get any love for that playoff team but it had a better record than Bill had with "his guys".

I'm surprised Parcell text
Also calling someone is so old....I have found that when you are on the phone you are forced to converse and a lot of times don't get all out
but in "silence" or text mode it allows your brain to think and organize better which is why text is more preferred.....

He inherited a college team, built a pro team, then watched Jerry and Wade enjoy a "Switzer" season before they drove the team into the ditch.

:hammer:

I miss that emote.

exactly like someone else put it, if you wanna say one or two things, it is better to do it by text rather than be guilt into 20 minutes of meaningless drivel over the phone, 45 minutes if it is your mother :)

The difference between 10-6 and 9-7 is not a big one. One of the big reasons we won 10 games that year was that it was an uncommonly bad year for the NFL East. the Giants won 4 and the Skins won 5. We took four wins off of them.

When we went 9-7 the division was tougher. In 2005 the Giants won 11 and Skins won 10. in 2006, Philly won 10 and the Giants won 8.

And really, the reason why Jerry gets no credit for 10-6 is that it likely would have been 5-11 under a different coach.

A "pro" team that was 24-24 and never won a playoff game. Wow, too bad we can't have that kind of professionalism come back to this team.
