I agree with you, I am old fashioned as well. I have only had a cell phone for 3 yrs.

But I am asking you to try texting. I didnt think I would ever try it or if I did I didn't think I would like it.

It is great for little short communications between my two boys and me. Or my wife.
Just a quick little txt to check what time they are coming home, or if they are going to the game or something.
We used to watch Dallas games together, but now my oldest has a wife and son, and my youngest lives in another state, so we text little comments back and forth during the games. I enjoy it.

Don't close your mind on this, give it a try, you may like it and use it.

Just not all the time, .. keep conversing Sportsbabe. ;)

I agree with your whole take on the texting thing when you're married with children. It's invaluable when having the desire and need to stay in touch with the family. Especially in this day and age. But lucky for me, I'm living the ....single, single, single, single ...... Life!!!

texting is far more efficient than playing phone tag, leaving voice mail etc
Oh, and let's not start with the voice mail conversation. People say, "didn't you see my missed call? Why didn't you call me back?" My philosophy is, you must didn't want anything because you didn't leave a message.

What I believe caused Parcell's to leave was his disappointment in the defense that fell apart during the 06 season and knowing Romo had warts (which he stated) and that is was going to take time to develop him.

I think Parcell's couldn't handle the stress at his old age. Getting so close and watching things slip away was too much for him at this point in his life. He's already tightly wound. He was a heart attack waiting to happen.

I wonder how Romo's career would've been different had he signed with Denver?

Whatever happened to picking up the phone and calling someone?

I think in the case of Romo-Parcells it just means that they are not that close anymore.

Anyways i do think it's a nice move from Parcells.

the death of his brother late that season really took a toll on him. He finally had to face the fact that he was just too old to be a HC anymore. Maybe that glimpse of his mortality through the loss of his brother had an effect as well.

A "pro" team that was 24-24 and never won a playoff game. Wow, too bad we can't have that kind of professionalism come back to this team.

A pro team that went 5-11 three seasons in a row before he arrived.

This isn't that hard to understand, buddy.

But you're missing the point. The best Parcells could offer was average and no playoff wins. We already have that and people of your ilk complain about 8-8 and no playoff wins.

I'm surprised Parcell text
Also calling someone is so old....I have found that when you are on the phone you are forced to converse and a lot of times don't get all out
but in "silence" or text mode it allows your brain to think and organize better which is why text is more preferred.....

Nailed it.........

The best he could offer? LOL

He took a pile of steaming crap and took it to the playoffs with Quincy Carter, Troy Hambrick, Peppi Zellner.....

Jerry beamed as he force-fed Chad Hutchinson and Drew Henson to Parcells, who saw them both as scrubs while noticing a twinkle in Romo. Jerry calls Romo a "miracle". No, Jerry, not to football people.

He rebuilt this franchise into a legitimate NFL team. He just wasn't here long enough; he was too old.

Parcells took a horrible Giants franchise, and built a Super Bowl champion. Then he took the horrible Patriots to the Super Bowl, before taking the laughingstock Jets to the AFC championship game. Then he came in and salvaged the Cowboys from becoming an NAIA club.

Parcells best coaching job might have been here, in the midst of utter incompetence and backwooded, Hillbilly, inbreded delusion.

What's wrong with conversing? Being forced to use your brain is a good skill to develop. I do not prefer text because emotion doesn't travel over cyberspace. Do you know how many people have misinterpreted my words over this keyboard?

To understand where I am coming from you would have to kind of being a student of Deepak Chopra and into Buddhism....and for some reason it seems to work for me in the realm of biz I am in.
Nailed it.........

I prefer 6-8 hour text convos on and off back and forth with my kids in college 3-4 times a week to the forced 15-20 minute phone call a week...along with the facebook and instagram interaction with them.....but hey I'm a 43 year old super geeky techy dad...

I agree that 2003 might have been the best year of coaching BP ever had. You look at that roster and how many starters there were playing let alone starting ANYWHERE in the NFL in 2 years.

He gave this organization its soul back. He understood what Landry had built. I will forever be grateful to him for that.

And I honestly think Garrett understands the same. He's got a little Landry in him, not to mention the direct relationship with Jimmy and Parcells.

I really hope Jason comes of age and leads us for a long, long time. He gets it.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I believe Garrett can get the job done now that he has help from Callahan. He has basically learned on the job and struggled with game/clock management, but he'll be better for it. It'll be interesting to see how he does this year.
