You fail to realize that Gibbs could very well have this as part of his strategy. What really matter are the games in December and January and NOBODY in the NFL is BETTER THEN GIBBS AT THESE.

I'm beginning to see the Master Plan that I envisioned upon Gibbs' return.

BS teams using this strategy play conservative game plans keeping everything close to the vest.

Gibbs and his coaches threw everything they had at the Cowboys both offensively and defensively.

It wasn't enough, the Cowboys are the one which played somewhat conservatively and have all season. We are the team with the surprises in store for the play-offs

You are either a comical genius or a complete idiot.

I would say the chances are 5/95

umm with the passing of sam kinison, bill hicks et al that moves to .01/99.99

plus being a Commander fan removes most connections with the word genius.

Joe Gibbs is a life lesson for not being a Commander. He was a sharp young coach and good guy who turned bitter, desperate and hateful.

I was thinking the same thing. i can't remember the last time we went this deep in the season with an 10-0 team, two 10-1 teams, an 8-2 team and i think a couple of 7-3 teams. But I wonder how much of that is due to the fact that the rest of the league is just really terrible?

Well...you would be the expert on close games.

Miami 13 - Commanders 16
Arizona 19 - Commanders 21
Jets 20 - Commanders 23

Some real powerhouse teams there and but for one play here or there you'd be staring at a 2-8 record as opposed to 5-5.

...but thanks for bringing it up.

Mmkay........carry on.

Dallas 28- Wash 23
Giants 21- Wash 14
Green Bay 17- Wash 14

with a little luck here and there they could be 8-2

but thanks for bringing it up

You're a special kind of delusional.

If the Skins and Gibbs are such geniuses that they can play to lose, so they can submarine and ambush the team later, why don't they win the Super Bowl every year?

And what's to say the Cowboys didn't do the same thing last week? We didn't need our A game to beat you guys, so we didn't use it.... much like we did against the Jets yesterday. But if we ever see you in a game that matters, watch out. Wade and Garrett are GENIUSES.

We need some smelling salts for this guy. The Skins right now are on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Why would you hold back and make it interesting? Did you guys just forget to turn it on last year?

True.

But that's not any different than what we saw in the 1970's.

Just like someone else pointed out, virtually the entire decade was dominated by 6 teams:

Cowboys
Steelers
Rams
Dolphins
Vikings
Raiders

Then you'd have a few teams make a random threat at the top like:
Fortyniners
Oilers
Commanders
Cards
Cincy
Broncos

But for the most part the rest of the league stank:
NY Giants
Lions
Bears
Saints
Falcons
Bills
Jets
Chargers
Chiefs

You play to win the game. If a HC's strategy is to lose the games, then he shouldn't be HC, period.

Only losers come up this excuse. Of course games during Sep - Nov matters. A team like yours, who are just mediocre team because they didn't have good games in early part of the season are now living in hopes. Hopes of other teams losing in order to make to the playoffs. Whereas, team like ours who took care of the business early is now controlling our own destiny, intead of praying that other teams lose.

I'm beginning to see the Master Plan that I envisioned upon Gibbs' return.
This is a such of moronic comment, I could only shake my head.
