Im really curious to see if we go with Faulk or Styles in the draft. Personally I'd love Styles, but im also intrigued by Faulk. His lack of pass rush production last season is a concern but there is some context and his character as well as dominant RUN DEFENSE me likey.

Ezu at Edge high draft pick Parker and co really need to get more out of him year 2 . I think Styles for the defense they want to have heavy LB presence is a better upside fit .

“If you can win 1st down and you’re strong in the fundamentals, we’re getting off blocks, we’re tackling, we’re attacking the football and we’re situationally aware those are the defenses that are successful.”

Best quote from Christian Parker presser that some here were butt hurt over.

So basically he is saying, do all the right things a good defense is supposed to do and we will be successful. Not really ground breaking. If that's what it takes to impress you, no wonder you are such an avid Dak supporter.

I think you're probably right. Ideally we get Styles at 12 and a DE at 20.

Ok Rowdy.

I will be sold on Parker after i see he is able to implement a functional defense.

They all know well to good how to drop those empty feel good phrases. They all know how to sell their ideas. Crap or not.

Just need to hope he's able to turn words into actions.

Some coaches have the right idea, but it's a good step up to being the coordinator of the entire defense.
Hopefully, he's the answer.

I think this account has been hacked. Rocky doesnt post in the offseason. He uses that time to decorate his Dak shrine.

You do you sour puss.

nah won me with multiples, and Ever evolving scheme each week game planning for specific offense, never one thing, it'll be a 3-4 base with a 4-3 gap, with some 5-man fronts etc etc

I know he mostly came the Nick Fangio tree, but I believe this might be something closer to what Brian Flores does, they teach defense more than they teach schemes.

Few nuggets
BTW.......welcome back Jane

"Few takeaways from today’s #Cowboys Christian Parker presser - Schotty has had Christian Parker in his notebook for awhile. - He has extensive knowledge of a 3-4 scheme and its importance after working w Vance Joseph and Vic Fangio - they will be multiple but 3-4 in nature, 4-2-5 in nickel- he scouted Shavon Revel in the draft -he stressed the importance of affecting the QB and stopping the run - he said interview was thorough and extensive - he appreciated the aligned vision - a political science major in college he said it helped him understand discourse and philosophical approaches - Schotty was looking for “energy and connection” talks about excitement guys already have for him and the excitement others had for Parker as they asked around about him. -hiring process involved an install, watching film and detailing it out for them, talking about personnel here and elsewhere and a mock position meeting."

Strange how you perceive a healthy relation to reality as sour puss.

This reminds me of my girl cousin who needs to see life always as a field of roses. Normality - just like for you - feels already unbearable bad for her.

And its the same with her as with you. The sour puss is you who does it. But you dont even get it because your view of whats normal is so disconnetced.

No they weren't. You're simply making crapp up so you can do your little pathetic insult thing again. Not one single poster was butt hurt over this quote. That's the dumbest thing ever said on this site.

I wouldn't be shocked if Parker is the HC here in 2-3 years. Heard it here first.
He’s been an NFL defensive coordinator for exactly zero games and you’re penciling him as a head coach based on little more than wishful thinking. More than a franchise owner/general manager, Jerry Jones is a svengali.

My favorite part of the presser was when he layed out his strategy with specificity. I'm paraphrasing this from sheer memory but it speaks to the soul of the man

"We're going inside of ‘em, we're going outside of ‘em -- inside of ‘em! outside of ‘em! -- and when we get them on the run once, we're going to keep ‘em on the run."

""And the tackles -- I want you to go in a yard and a half -- and then check yourselves. Spread your feet -- squat down low -- and be ready with your hands and elbows, so you won't be sideswiped. But I want the ends in there fast every play. Every play, but under control. And you men in the backfield there, I want you to analyze it before you move. If they throw a forward pass, a zone pass, wait ‘til you see the ball in the air -- and then go and get it! And when we get it, boys, that's when we go on offense. And that's when we go to ‘em -- and, don't forget, we're gonna pick on one last one tackle that is weak."

Great inside info from the Parkster.

I don’t think he’d want to be.
Actually, if you look at the way they the offensive and the defensive Staffs now, there's potential all over with guys like Klayton Adams and Christian Parker, but they just brought the guy from SMU that was the defensive coordinator etc

And there are others,

but I'm just saying they all have potential to be elevated hired from within that's what kind of staff you want that when a guy leaves you don't have to search elsewhere for the replacement whether it's moving up into a coordinator position or everybody takes a move up There are potential all over this F now that we haven't had in a while...

And I'm not sure what you mean,

the Dallas Cowboys may have had a drought in the playoffs,

that doesn't make this team less desirable to coaches, the Dallas Cowboys would be a badge of honor, whether you guys believe it or not, it still holds true,

I mean isn't that what the league sees??

I mean the NFL still puts them on so many primetime games, even though this drought bugs the living poop out fan base, that doesn't make them less popular, they are as relative if they've ever been as America's team, regardless of the playoff drought.

The sad thing is, if he turns out to be a great defensive coordinator out of the gate, we'll only have him for a season or two before he takes off for a HC gig somewhere.
