Parsons snaps at off-ball LB:
- Last year: 56%
- Week #1: 35%
- Week #2: 5%
Agreed, and if by seasons end if thats a 80/20 type split being a pass rusher vs being a LB then I would have zero issues with that.It will probably end up somewhere between those week 1 and week 2 numbers throughout the season depending on the opponent. I don't think Quinn wants offensive coordinators to be able to pin down exactly where Micah will be on any given play. He might rush from the left, he might rush from the right, he might rush from the middle, he might not rush at all. He's the ultimate chess piece, but generally we're going to have him do what causes the most damage, which is rushing the passer.
The only real reason to play him off the line on passing downs is to blitz himMicah is an All Pro DE and an All Pro LB. It's just that if you can get to the QB there isn't anything else you can do as impactful. It's your new full time job if your coaching staff has the slightest clue of what they're doing.
This isn't true. He was against Cincy because that was the gameplan due to the Bengals' horrific offensive line. He played a lot more linebacker against the Bucs. This week, the primary focus will be on Barkley, so expect more LB from him.And thank God for that because he is ten times better at that position than he is at LB. I said last year that once Gregory comes back Parsons rush attempts would be a lot less and I was right about that but now that he's gone and with Lawrence's sack numbers being way down Parsons lines up on the LOS almost every play that he's in there unless they use him in a stunt from time to time but he's still coming. Plus with so much attention put on Parsons it really frees up the other guys to go one on one with the o-lineman which will result in bigger numbers on the stat sheet. Quinn will continue to use this approach as long as he's D-coordinator and will put a ton of pressure on any team's game plans when it comes to stopping Parsons.

That is what is beautiful about Parsons. He's impossible to prepare for. Quinn moves him around all over the place because he can do just about anything.
I think Parsons will change the NFL. Teams are going to start to look for guys that can do all these things, instead of assigning positions to them like linebacker, running back, or safety. Not that there are a lot of Micah Parsons out there, but guys like Darren Woodson, Ray Lewis, Troy Polamalu....or even someone like Adrian Peterson with freakish athletic ability and strength could have been used more uniquely like this.
Quinn is having a blast with this, and with Vander Esch and Barr playing well, he can devise all kinds of looks.

Proclaim it? The numbers say it's so now go ahead and prove me wrong...........Because you proclaim it does not make it so. Quinn has said his intention to move Parson around. As a LB Cowboys will rush him just as well, as DE.
Because he lines up on the LOS a lot more now and will continue to do so, you won't see this freak of nature off the ball much anymore that I can guarantee.I don’t mean to be condescending in any way, just want to clarify what your point is. How does him having lined up more than 1/3rd of his snaps at LB week 1 prove your point?
And your opinion is a good one grasshopper, Parsons should be moved around like a chess piece, that's the advantage. He'll be easier to game plan against......I'd rather see him playing multiple positions...makes it tougher on opponents....my opinion
Doesn't matter though.barring injury, micah will have at least 10 sacks by week 8.
