Does anyone else see a similarity to their games ?
Both are freakish athletes.
Both have an incredible ability to get to the QB.
Both are relentless.
Even some of there pass rush moves look the same.
What say you ?

Parsons has more speed , his closing speed is very good, and also for his size his power is amazing, we dont see one armed swipes move OL as we see from Parsons . But Dware had prototype size for pass rusher and uncanny ability to time the snap.

Ware was super quick with bend, but what made him really great was his timing of the snap and being a technician with his moves.

Micah has the speed and the bend; he's getting better with his moves. What he has on top of all this is power. It really surprising considering his size seeing him bullrush some of these OL.

Honestly I don't see the similarities. D'ware has been in camps and I remember a lot of reports of him working with Parsons his rookie year on pass rush moves so it makes sense that those would look similar.

DWare was like an artist out there, and had his craft down to a science. He was just so good at beating Ts around the edge there was really nothing guys could do to stop him. One of the best to time a snap as I have ever seen, and used perfect technique to bend and flatten out his path to the QB. Dware was also so controlled in the run game. It was so much fun to watch him basically control an Olineman, read the RB, and shed a blocker to make a play at the LOS.

Parsons I don't know how to describe other than just pure chaos. He has the strength to just bull rush his way through an OT, and has the athletic ability to fake outside rip underneath and get through the line untouched because the OT just broke his ankles. The gifts that Micah has can't really be taught. He is just running off of pure instinct and determination.

Parsons is more violent, more competitive, more of a big play guy. Can sense the moment. Better leader in that way.

Ware once had a 20 sack season .. that's a helluva impact.

But he wasn't move around and schemed designed near as much as Parsons is being under Dan Quinn.

I don't recall the Cowboys having " Hybrid " schemes under Marinelli, Parcells/Zimmer and Wade Phillips

yah, the better teams could scheme around Ware better. With Parsons you dont know where he is going to be and cant be stopped in key situations.

Kind of, in that they are both absurdly fast speed rushers.

Ware was a technician though. He had a deep bag of pass rushing moves and a high football IQ to set them up. He had the raw speed to blow around the corner, but he'd also get sacks ripping back inside or spinning off a block. The closest comparison to Ware in today's game is probably TJ Watt. Old-man Von Miller plays a lot like Ware too... 94 definitely taught him some stuff.

Parsons is much stronger than Ware, and if anything is even faster. He doesn't have a lot of moves right now aside from an outside-in Euro step, but he wins by physically destroying everyone in front of him. The Lawrence Taylor comparisons are apt, and I don't think there's another guy in the league today who plays like he does.

Best take in this thread.

- To this very day, DWare, the late Derrick Thomas and Mark Gastineau was as blinding first step off the snap of the ball as i ever seen any edge rushers i've ever seen.
Even NFL officials would wrongly mistaken DWare as being offsides because he was so frightening quick off the ball snap while OTs were still in their crouched stances.

- Only certain rare elite guys like a Trent Williams could really handle Dware on a consistent basis.

- With Parsons, its a blend of first step burst, natural power/strength, great footwork-change of direction and adept leverage rush techniques

- Plus as i mentioned in a previous post, a lot has to do with Quinn's scheme and ability to move him around and position him.
We'll even see Parsons coming from up the gut middle, en route to bowling over the blitz- blocking RB in the backfield.
I don't recall seeing DWare incoming -rushing from the middle like

- I also recall DWare wasn't as an effective pure pass rusher in his rookie year as Parsons was, as DWare wasn't adept with counter-moves
Once they rode him outside with his initial upfield, he was dead on sight. but he improved.
However Parsons as even a rookie, already had the counter-moves in his repetiore' they slowed his upfield rush, and he still had the arm-hand leverage to
cut inside the OT and close to the QB sack.
