What Micah is saying is exactly what I’m seeing. There were multiple times minshew got the ball out in 2 seconds and still almost got sacked.

two things are at play. As someone previously mentioned less third and longs. The reason a team like Philly has passed us in sacks is their run d.

but we’ve been playin more soft and teams have decided theyd rather get the ball out quickly and take their chances.

Minshew threw the ball away like 3-4 time in the game. You can tell he was coached to just throw it away the second he saw the pocket collapsing.
Although it's not as good as a sack, it's still had a negative effect on their offense.

Micah is right. Opponents are getting rid of the ball quicker or they are putting two guys on Micah to stop him. Micah is not the problem. It's the rest of the DL that is not picking up the slack.

And, it is also the coverages. The Cowboys need to be more aggressive in coverage and take away the short quick throws. Teams are running a lot of slants and crossing route underneath and it is creating a lot of 3rd and short situations. But even the 3rd and 5 cases the coverages are 7 or 8 yards deep and allowing the quick passes for first downs.

But I was thinking too, maybe it is LVE not playing. He drops back into the middle and it both tall and rangy. Maybe he takes some of those routes away. We'll see when he gets back.

It’s funny, Micah knows the ball is coming out faster, but the defensive backs are still playing off far too often.
