LVE is a risk investment that Dallas is very unlikely to make unless LVE wants to stay and take a discount.

In the draft you happen to have two very possible replacements that fit the mold.

It'll be a competitive market for LVE next year.

He's been pretty durable through 18 games now.

I was also going to say, LVE and Parsons are developing a chemistry.. they are playing together, as in plotting and scheming knowing the plan and being on the same page, even though it's always going to be a different play for both of them.

Good to finally see that, and the pressure from LVE. Those are your athletes.

Exactly, these kinda contracts always come back to haunt Dallas, they live in the moment instead of looking at the whole picture
he has been solid. It would be a good idea to bring him back.

Resign any injury prone player w/ historical neck issues b/c he's had a few good games and his backup isn't ready?
This what concerns me about LVE. I like him but he has missed games the past few seasons due to injuries. I know injuries are part of the game but has ever played a full season.

We are a better team with him than without him but what's his value? The 2022 tag for LBers $18M. The Ravens just resigned R Smith for $20M. We know he's not getting these numbers. Maybe a one-year prove-it deal $10-12M???

He's gone and we take the comp pick.
He's not the kind of guy we sign. Good but not great.
The only hope of him staying is if he gets dissed by the league again with no interest from other teams. We got him back this year for a ridiculously low price. Great signing for us. Stupid league that wouldn't outbid us.

I like LVE he is not a super star most players aren't but he is integral piece he won't get the accolades or the attention guys like Micha, DLaw, Diggs or others may get but he is a player that holds all the different pieces together. This season he has come across as cerebral and instinctual with the way he makes sure the DL are positioned right for the call and the formation in front. He is not worth game changer money but under 12-15m AAV is not a bad place to be.

Here are his numbers .....he missed three games but still had his best year since the rookie season. Just me, but I don't see him getting a long-term deal from any team with a lot of guaranteed money, at least not on the front end. As mentioned earlier, we are a better team with him than without him and NO, I don't trust drafting a rookie. Besides, if Parsons says he's worth keeping......you keep him.

IMO Dallas likes spreading out caps over term, to play with early cap hits. I think LVE has shown that his neck issue isn't something that causes lack of durability. So, I think a mid to long term deal would be good for both sides. Probably like Sean Lee, his contract will have escalators/performance/snaps played bonuses to protect the team.

I've seen Sanders shoot up the draft boards to being atop 30 prospect by some draft people. But I've also read that he's possibly maxed out on his frame and he's 6'5 230~.
Size isn't end all, but curious if anyone has watched him to say he's a possible low 1st/2nd round pick. Impressive sack numbers but not sure if it's due to his talent or positioning that won't jive in the NFL.

Dude is a beast! Major drop off after his neck injury which should be expected and applauded at the same time for working his butt off to get back to where he once was. This board is filled with people that have never had a major injury and had to go back to doing the exact same thing that caused the injury. The physical part is the easy part to rebound from, the psyche part not so much. This year he has been fighting those mental demons and getting back to who he once was if not better! The team sees it and I’m sure the front office does also.

I would say it depends if we keep Quinn. If we don't then I would leave up to the next DC. With that being said I would not be opposed to giving him an offer if the # is right, and if were unsure what that is then let him test the market then see if its worth matching.

I thought Cox was going to be taking his spot. LVE had a rough surgery for a LB. He is back and ready. See if he will take a decent 2 year deal.

He already signed a 1 year 2 million dollar prove it deal.

LVE gave Dallas a huge discount of a 1-year/$2M deal but given Parsons' support and how LVE performed this season expect a deal averaging at least $8M/year if not more.....and take into account that Donovan Wilson, Dalton Schultz, Tony Pollard, Cooper Rush, Noah Brown, Connor McGovern, Jonathan Hankins, and Brett Maher are also free agents this off-season so there will only be so much money to go around.

I agree. I think Diggs might end up odd man out as far as getting paid. We might resign Schultz. He's been elite. Diggs has underwhelmed. Blands play has been elite.

Parsons isn't an NFL GM.

LVE has been bad most of his short career only showing a flash here and there. The last few games he has played well and more instinctively. That said, they would be dumb to over pay for the production he gives when you look at the body of his work. Keep him if it's a reasonable contract but don't give him Jaylon Smith kind of money.
