Parsons talks about Jerry as an owner/person

This has always been Jerry........he has always bonded with his players but that can be good and bad.

How cute. Jerry knows how to treat a man child. Baby him up...and don't forget to warm his bottle for his afternoon nap.

Does the forum know I dislike this player?

Its not a bad thing to have love for your players.

Its becomes a bad thing when you can't separate the relationship with business.
that's the biggest problem, because it then affects the person's job you hired to do the coach, coach can't be a coach when the player and the owner are in love

This is one of the reasons why Michael Irvin said that "Jerry is one of us." Jerry knows how to throw away his check book and level out with his players. He took off his tie, unbuttoned his shirt and walked down Borbon Street with a drink in his hand with all the peons. Tell me another billionaire who will do that.

Coach Pop from the Spurs doesn't know how to relate to urban players like Michael. Or former Spur Stephen Jackson, who was from Oakland. He said on TNT on the post-game show that Pop doesn't know how to relate to urban players, which is why he's been drafting cultured players from other countries for many years now. Urban players need that extra love and guidance since they might not have gotten it growing up in the streets.

That's probably the only thing I like about Jerry because he sucks as a GM!

I think you can love and appreciate a player, but still compartmentalize and do your job. A huge part of the problem is Jerry clearly struggles and he has NO ONE to call him out. He surrounds himself with YES men.

Jerry does see his players are family , thats a great thing .

Maybe the best thing that Jerry has .

IMHO , Jerry is a great OWNER not a great GM :

Jerry's love for the team and the players is undeniable .

His GM skills are lacking though .

I'd say Jerry's love for the players is almost not healthy , he views them as his family and that cannot be good in negotiations .

No it is not a great thing. It is a weakness. If you were a Billionaire you would over pay your family members as well. They would be in positions and have titles they had no business being in.

I never thought Jerry was a bad person. I don't know the man. I assumed the loyalty he shows to some players is a flaw in his GM side. This sounds like another reason for him to step aside as GM and just be the owner who cares about his players. Let the GM make the decisions about who Jerry needs to care about.
