Because compared to our other positions our secondary isn't quite as strong.
Compare our other positions to CB/S. And by strong, I mean talented.

Is our secondary stronger than our LB corps? No
our DL? No
our OL? No
our WR/TEs No
QB? No
RB? No

It's not that our secondary is weak....but if you look at an area to attack as an opposing coach, you're going to say your best shot at success lies with your WRs going against our CBs.

I've never said their CBs are better than ours......I just think their 5 WR set gives us more match up problems than our 3WR/Witten set does for them.
None of this has anything to do with why some analysts would favor the Packers over the Cowboys, because of the Cowboys secondary.

If the defensive line and linebacking core is much more talented than the secondary, it's there job to play at a high level and make-up for the unit's perceived weak link.

Just as the offense needs to avoid turnovers and penalties to stay on the field as much as possible and special teams needs to tilt field position in our favor.

I'm just saying that's why I think it would favor the Packers secondary.

Sheesh.....It must be nice to never be wrong.

Geez, don't overreact. Your point just didn't make any sense.

Whatever.....most of your posts in this thread have basically screamed, "I AM RIGHT! THE REST OF YOU ARE MORONS FOR NOT AGREEING!"

If I'm wrong about that.....I apologize.

And I'll try to sum up my feelings again....Maybe it'll make more sense that way.

I think our secondary is the weakest part of our team.

I think the Packers do to.

I think they're going to try to exploit it.

I think their secondary matches up with our receivers better than our secondary matches up with their receivers.

That....is my point. That.....is my opinion.

If that doesn't make sense, then I guess I don't know how to explain it any better.

These two defenses are essentially identical in terms of statistics.

you can find many similarities between the 2 teams, that's why this game is going to be great to watch, mere images of each other battling it out for NFC supremacy

doesn't get much better than that

One of the biggest reasons some analysts are picking Green Bay is because of pass defense.

So let's look at the two teams' pass defenses in terms of YPG.

Dallas Opponents: 217.0 YPG
Green Bay Opponents: 215.3 YPG

Not a lot of difference. Then you look at both teams' defense in terms of QB rating.

Dallas Opponents: 73.4
Green Bay Opponents: 77.0

You also have to consider that Green Bay hasn't had the misfortune of playing the god-like Tom Brady this season. I'm not sure where this notion that Green Bay has a much better defense comes from. Anyone care to enlighten me?

The solution to that is easy just double adjust and take out both teams best and worst performances.
