Yep. In a 4-3 defense he's your DT. In a 3-4 defense he's your LDE with an OLB playing to the left of him.

True. But if a team runs on first down for no gain, or a loss, is a guarantee the next play is a pass. So it doesn't have to be three wide or third down it can be situational.

Plus they can't cover anybody so the rush has no chance to get home anyway.

I think the idea of getting creative on passing downs is worth exploring. If the current rush isn’t generating enough pressure, moving guys around to create better matchups makes sense. Gary at DT with Lawrence coming off the edge could at least give the offense a different look and potentially put our most explosive rushers in positions to win. Ten snaps a game is certainly manageable if the coaching staff thinks the matchup works. Two sacks today is a good start. We all want more though.

Porter full time is going to make the rush look better -- I do like what we did a few weeks back using Downs as a blitzer -- some more of that please.

Have to be honest here...Loved the kid @ UCF.....Starting to get the impression the bright lights in Dallas have him shellshocked. He may not have been ready for this stage...yet. Not to say he can't get there....But sure was expecting more from him @ this point.

He blitzed more. Yanno scheming pass rush.. but I digress..

Having a guy like Anderson makes life a lot easier for DCs. And CB like Stingley. And before anyone says but Micah, Anderson by far the better all around player.

If and when DMo gets back blitzing him often should help.

When we get Locke back should let Downs go back to his spot closer to line of scrimmage.

We need another edge not to replace Lawrence but to compliment him.

Is it just me, or does EZ NOT try to speed rush around the tackle or start outside and use moves inside. I swear every time I watch him he just runs head first into the tackle and that’s basically the end of the play….i don’t see violent hands and trying to get around the tackle. I watched Hutchinson for the Lions and he has burst to get AROUND the tackle, both ends for Houston…maybe I’m missing those plays but man EZ doesn’t do much to get AROUND the tackle.

Anderson better against the run, but Micah was an absolute monster for getting pressure, like top of the league at it….and that made a ton of difference for us those 12-5 years with McCarthy.

Two sacks is a great step forward.
