That's what I'm afraid of.

MichaelWinicki;4477856 said:I'm not thrilled with Cox either... I just view him as the least of the "evils" at #14 other than DeCastro.
I'd be happier with a trade down and not have to pick anyone at #14.

Well some have compared Cox to Ziggy Hood or Corey Liuget, not something I want at #14.
MichaelWinicki;4477999 said:I hope DeCastro is there at 14.
Deep_Freeze;4478003 said:Well there are alot of others that will be there also, I don't think of this draft as DeCastro or bust at all its just that I'm not a real big fan of Cox at the moment.
On the positive, Sapp said Cox reminded him of him apparently, although I didn't hear him say that myself. Sapp might want to refer to the fact that he had 19.5 sacks in 3 years in college while Cox had 8.5 sacks.

Risen Star;4477600 said:Well then I think you'll be happy with our 1st round pick because I believe the Cowboys are thinking this way.

Coples would give the Cowboys a young, impact defensive lineman. Dallas needs one bad, too. If the Cowboys could get the junior Coples and the guy at the Senior Bowl, they would have hit pay dirt. If you are going to take a gamble on any of the front seven defensive players in this draft (at 14), I think Coples is the best bet, imo. North Carolina's program was in complete disarray. Coples could provide a boost to the pass rush, and he could be moved around some while playing the 5 technique, too. You could put Coples' hand in the dirt and line him up wide and turn him loose, too. Coples is a guy who can be sold to me.
If you could give me Coples at 14 and trade back into the first round with New England and intercept Peter Konz before the Packers or Ravens or Colts could grab him, that would be a great draft and worth it, imo.
1. Quinton Coples DE North Carolina
1. Peter Konz C Wisconsin
Those two guys would be two huge impact trench players, and this team needs them.

Deep_Freeze;4477621 said:Well if this thread is about pass rushers, Cox has 8.5 sacks in his entire 3 year career in college. I know the general thinking is we want a guy like JJ Watt down there, but Cox is nowhere close to JJ Watt.
Romo_To_Dez;4477643 said:Seeing QB's have all day in the pocket was frustrating hopefully we will get the right players so that Ware isn't the only rusher that teams mainly respect and fear.
DanTanna;4477673 said:IMO we need to protect Romo like other teams protect Breeze, Brady and Manning. A really good Dallas OL and we score 14 more points a game. Last year, we lost how many games by 14+?. Yes our D sucked, but our OL was worse and Romo covered it up with his skills.
MichaelWinicki;4477675 said:Agreed.
I'd love about 4 or 5 more corners, but I think #1 is going to be a front-7 person.
If I had to vote today, it would be Cox.
Then either a center/guard in either rounds 2 or 3, and whatever round they don't select an offensive lineman then it will be an OLB.
Rounds 4-7?
Corners every round.![]()
