I don't think Austin's ability is even a factor at this point. He will be cut due to an inability to stay healthy.

The contract we gave Lee suggests you are wrong.
If Miles has a couple bug games he likely comes back as we never seem to shirk weapons for Romo.
And Miles money isn't bad if he was a legit WR1 type.
But his poor play when he did get on field puts that to rest.

Lee only missed 1 game in 2011 and then had an acute injury in 2012. It was at that point they signed him to a new contract. The contract came before his 2013 injury.

Austin has had lingering injuries (primarily hamstring) for multiple years now.

Lee came into the league with an injury history and has played hurt much of his time here in some form or other.

And Miles himself had a terrible injury history before we made him rich.

It is clear Dallas pays regardless of injury history if they see the potential for major production. Miles has lost that. Came with moving to LA and not spending summers here with Romo as he did previous to getting rich.

Harris is not a traditional WR. Never has been, never will be. He is an old school flanker type who is a pseudo RB. Would like to see him in empty sets flex in and out of backfield. I think you could split WR3 duties with him and Beasley next year. He would do well on anything that gets ball in his hands early. Beasley will more easily get separation.

I wouldn't really know, maybe you're right. I've seen Beasley and Harris run routes that go more than 10 yards down the field only a hand full of times.

Harris was a RB/QB in high school then a jet sweep, screen, hitch WR at ECU, He breaks tackles and has great vision.

Beasley is really quick but not fast. Wins in small spaces but doesn't have size or speed of outside threats.

Both are usable pieces but just pieces.

I agree. I think he ends up being one of two excellent players we got this year.

Not certain about that, but he shows real promise. The best thing is that he was starting for Austin a lot so there is no illusion in regards of his production due to the fact he was facing 3rd corners a lot of the time.

Man- you are on a roll in this thread! I agree with every word and nobody has been disputing you (and I know there are some real Miles defenders here *Roy the Hammer*) so I can only assume they either haven't looked at this thread, which they should get in here and speak, or they have nothing to say.

I honestly think Miles checked out last year, when Dez started taking over.
I could definitely be wrong, but I saw too many signs throughout games that gave me that impression.

Don't get me wrong- I wish Miles could have been what we all thought he was going to be: An elite WR to go with our other weapons.
Why wouldn't I? I'm a fan of the team, I want the team to succeed- I want Miles to have succeeded because that meant good things for the team.

But he didn't. He got injured. Then injured again. Then the effort seemed to dwindle on various plays- not all plays, but you could see some plays he was checking out.
Then he's injured again. At some point you have to give up on this. It's like beating yourself on the head with a board to get rid of your headache.
It's time to move on, and that's kind of tragic because he was a very good story and could have been an immense player for them.

You are not actually trying to claim this is Austin's fault are you?
I don't specifically blame him for the 2 INT's.
He could have ran his routes better, but he still pretty much did his job- he beat his man.
The throws were poor- no if's and's or but's.
But the body of his work this year and the last few years go beyond those two specific plays and it hasn't been pretty for him or the team.

No I was simply pointing out the 2 INTs on Austin's record were the most memorable ones for me. (Besides Romo's in the Denver game) I do think it's his job to at least ATTEMPT to bat the ball down, especially the one to Sheilds. Attempt, not that it would have made a difference but when you have contributed as little as he did this season every effort counts.
