Passing Along Some Sad News

Good morning Cowboys fans. I feel like this is deja vu.

Several years ago I shared with this forum the news that one of our own had passed away from lung cancer. Unfortunately today I am doing that again.

Several months back I got a PM from sonnyboy telling me he was going through the same thing. He had a 20% chance of survival and a 50% chance he'd be gone in a year or 2.

Last night I couldn't sleep. For some reason I just knew I had to get up and check my PMs on another site. I saw a message from sonnyboy, and my immediate reaction was, "Please be you, and not your son."

Sadly, it was his son, going through his Dad's Cowboys stuff and he let me know sonnyboy passed away a little over a month ago. Michael was a very good man, and a loyal Cowboys fan. I have asked his son for a link to an obituary and I will get it to the staff here if I ever get a response. I will also give him the link to this thread for any of you who want to express your thoughts and prayers for our friend.

Rest in Peace brother.

As a lung cancer survivor (so far and i plan on going on strong for many more years) news like this just saddens me so much. I don't know many people on here, if any, but even i feel sad by this news.

Sad news, RIP.
Lost my mother to liver / lung cancer. Not sure which where started, but it spread from one to the other.
Thing is she never drank, nor smoked. Not saying that is always the cause.

Had a lot of debates with sonnyboy wondered what became of him. Noticed he disappeared about 2 years ago tried finding him on the member list but couldn't locate him. I remember his avatar was of him and his son. RIP.
