You just don't take project picks in the 1st round.Add Guyton to the list… Hated that pick before it happened. I hate even more today. Total waste of a pick.

He was a terrible cornerback and was paid a lot of money at the time, but that doesn't mean you change your whole philosophy. That is seriously what happened.
He was a good #2 type CB. Everyone knew it except Jerry. He was a terrible cornerback and was paid a lot of money at the time, but that doesn't mean you change your whole philosophy.
And it wasn't that he was "bad", he just wasn't a shut down corner. They overpaid but certainly no reason to stop participating in FA.They signed one bad free agent in Brandon Carr and decided they were done with spending big in free agency.
No he was awful. We could have signed an undrafted free agent and gotten the same production. And it wasn't that he was "bad", he just wasn't a shut down corner. They overpaid but certainly no reason to stop participating in FA.
It was so strange how they didn't have anyone on staff who could evaluate his ability. It was just so obvious that he was a #2 CB.And it wasn't that he was "bad", he just wasn't a shut down corner. They overpaid but certainly no reason to stop participating in FA.
I'm not seeing five. Beebe was third round. Steele was UDFA.They don’t need five 1st rd picks for the OL. Time to use premium resources on defense
Guyton was a project. Had no business taking that guy in the first round.Add Guyton to the list… Hated that pick before it happened. I hate even more today. Total waste of a pick.
I urge you to go review some of our other "starting" corners in years past before using the word "awful" to describe Carr.No he was awful. We could have signed an undrafted free agent and gotten the same production.
He gave up as many big plays as our Corners do now.I urge you to go review some of our other "starting" corners in years past before using the word "awful" to describe Carr.
Also, if I remember correctly, he should have been used in a more zone scheme. He just didn't have the twitch speed to mirror receivers.
I’m not even mad about Revel and Overshown. There’s some guys who are or were perfectly healthy and stink. Schoonmaker was a stupid pick. I didn’t mind it because I thought they didn’t like Ferg. Stupidity of a pick.Taking TEs and Injured players high is the exact reason why we can't stop anyone. Schoonmaker, Revel, even Overshown who has always been injury prone. That's why.
Without the turnovers too. I was ok with Carr but yeah Bland and Diggs have been more productive. He gave up as many big plays as our Corners do now.
And Micah was a forced pick because the two CBs were gone. It’s pretty simple. They hit on some late OL picks. People thought “great draft”; that went to Jerry’s ears and he decided “Oline = me smart” Micah was his D hit that is now gone
Guyton was a project. Had no business taking that guy in the first round.
I was about to post, I think he may have had two interceptions his entire career here. The guy was flat out dog **** and people here said he was a solid corner. No the F he wasn't.Without the turnovers too. I was ok with Carr but yeah Bland and Diggs have been more productive.
Bro you win with guards in the nfl get with the program. They don’t need five 1st rd picks for the OL. Time to use premium resources on defense
I mean he was probably the best we had he was better then Mo and wherever else we threw out there. Hell based on salary is probably say we got more out of Scandrifk and Anthony Brown.I was about to post, I think he may have had two interceptions his entire career here. The guy was flat out dog **** and people here said he was a solid corner. No the F he wasn't.
