My point. NOT ON A COWBOYS BOARD AGAINST A COWBOYS FAN.

Later Dude

And No I don't want to argue if a Safety (Ed Reed) was better than a CB (Walls)
Ed Reed was better than Everson Walls regardless he was a safety and Walls was a corner. It’s a lot more difficult getting into the Hall of Fame as a safety than a corner.

Everson Walls was a flat out play maker!!! He definitely should be in the Hall of Fame. He also won a Superbowl with the Giants.

Of course he got beat a time or two, but he made WAY more big plays than mistakes. He baited QB’s into bad throws all the time. Diggs reminds me of Everson, but he needs to clean up his game just a bit.

In the dreaded catch game, Everson played a hell of a game. He had 2 interceptions of the original goat, Joe Montana( I hate the Whiners but Montana was the best in his day. Whiners were so stupid to go with Steve Young over him).
Montana had just come off an injury filled season and was done. At this point, Young was better than him.

Well if you knew you shouldn't have posted what you did. The fact is Smith was NOT in the Hall before that play and no not everyone knew he was a HOFer. There are no guarantees wit the HOF or else it wouldn't have taken him 16 years to get in. Walls had a HOF career before and after that play. Again ONE PLAY DOESN'T DEFINE A CAREER. I know this is hard for you to understand. Now move one.
He didn't say he was already in, he said he'd already had a HOF type career. Is that hard for YOU to understand?

My post is not about how good Ed Reed is or is not. It's about Everson Walls. I couldn't care less about Ed Reed. There's no comparison. I do not get why every time a Cowboy gets props, here we go with the who's better from Another team . No smoke

Some of us choose to post honest opinions and not just cheerlead the team, and players. Fans here keep saying Everson Walls should be in the Hall of Fame and I’m simply pointing out the reasons why he’s not. He’s not even in his own teams Hall of Fame. He was a very good player, but the Hall of Fame isn’t for the very good.

I know what he said. My point is it took him 16 years to get in and to act like he was a surefire HOFer is ridiculous. Many players are 'HOF type players'.

You need to learn how to read and pay attention to what is going on and stop jumping in the middle of conversations you know nothing about.

He's not getting in any time soon. Randy Gradishar needs to be #1 priority this year. Roger Craig, Ken Anderson, Jim Marshall, and probably quite a few other players on the list are ahead of him too.

The NFL announced 60 Hall of Fame semifinalists for the Senior and Coach/Contributor categories with four former Cowboys among the nominees including Frank "Bucko" Kilroy, Dan Reeves, Everson Walls and John Wooten.

Dan Reeves, a former safety and running back for the Cowboys from 1965-1972, began his coaching career with Dallas as a player/coach in 1972 before transitioning full-time to coaching from 1974-1980. Frank "Bucko" Kilroy served as a scout for the Cowboys from 1965-1970 and is regarded as an instrumental voice for the franchiseUp drafting Roger Staubach. John Wooten worked as a scout for the Cowboys from 1975-1979 before being promoted to Director of Pro Scouting, a position he held with the franchise until 1991.

Everson Walls signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 1981 and played cornerback for the franchise for nine seasons. Walls led the NFL in interceptions in three of those seasons while also earning three First-Team All-Pro honors. Walls and Ed Reed are the only two players in NFL history to lead the league in interceptions in three separate seasons.

Up against the Walls. It would take me too long to write how significant John Wooten was to the Dallas Cowboys, NFL, scouting, NFL diversity advancement, and civil rights. John Wooten should have have been in the Hall of Fame 20 years ago.

Wow -- good to see Everson Walls finally being a finalist for entering the Hall of Fame. It's been far too long since he retired. He's very deserving.
