Hey kartr !

Ya know, there are 32 teams in the NFL, ... each proabably has 3 QB's on their roster. (including PS)

That's 96 slots open in the NFL for QB's, ...96 !!

QC is not one of the 96, ... figure it out.

Hell, it's more than 96. A lot of teams have gone more than 3 deep at QB because of injuries and the like. I bet the number is into the hundreds. There is no doubt that Quincy Carter is horrible, and 32 GMs have made that point quite clear. For someone to argue that Quincy has ANY NFL ability or is responsible for our record in 2003 is to say that the 32 GMs in the league are somehow wrong to not include Carter in the top 100. As for who is right...I'll put my money on the GMs instead of deluded people like kartr.

Either kartr is in fact Quincy Carter himself (after all, that loser has nothing better to do with his time since he doesn't have a job and doesn't have the money to keep up his coke habit), or he has the world's largest man crush. No other reason can explain why kartr constantly is trying to prop up Quincy.

Problem is, what did Q Car have that Drew doesn't have.

Drew B is the better QB by far, but some people just have a knack for winning, and Drew doesn't.

Draft a QB 1st round, even if you have to move up. We are not 1 or 2 years away, I'm sorry folks.

He drives me crazy watching him hold the ball. You would think he would get the message that is not a good thing!

When he drops back a lets it go fast he is a much better QB, but that is not often enough.

Yeah, Drew should throw the ball out of bounds.

In his favor, he was desperate to make plays on a day when the running game and defense both forgot to show up. To Drew, that usually means Terry Glenn (when he isn't dropping or alligator-arming a pass).

Right now the most consistent thing about our offense is Marion Barber's running and pass blocking. Talk about a 180 from the start of the season!

I read this same thread on every Cowboys board. Same words, different posters.

And yet, the on issue whoch seems to be missed is a simple fact which Parcells commented on earlier in the year.

Bledsoe holds the ball waiting for someone to get open and doesn't throw the ball randomly so it won't get picked off.

In other words, he takes the sack instead of throwing it up for grabs.

Now I'm sure this will cause some to retort in a negative manner.

But I defer to the heads coach and his opinion.

No need to only defer to the coaches (though I agree with you).

Look at the numbers. They don't lie.

If Drew had a problem reading defenses or getting rid of the ball, he would not have the career numbers he does now.

Quarterbacks who have problems throwing the football or making decisions, such as Quincy Carter or Chad Hutchison, end up in the same spot both of them are: out of football.

Quarterbacks who are in the Top 10 of all Quarterbacks in NFL history get there because they know how to read defenses and know how and when to throw the football.

Those suggesting Drew "holds it too long" or "can't read a defense fast enough" are so facially wrong that is absurd and laughable.

I'm not here defending the 2005 Cowboys lackluster play of late. You know Kartr...your problem is that even though you do make several solid observations and points from time to time, your constant attempts to time travel back to 2003 in order to prop up a former Cowboy QB completely ruins your credibility. Let it go already. He's gone and he's NEVER coming back. Everyone knows he wasn't the ONLY reason the 2003 team went 10-6. Like my buddy Nors always says, "move on."

I never said he was the only reason we were successful. How do you know he's never coming back. Other players have come back and they aren't as good as he is(Dantzler and Davis). Telling me to move on is like waving a red flag at a already angry bull. Why do you feel that a qb who's helped two teams get to the playoffs in as many years needs propping up? Carter doesn't need propping up, however, Bledsoe does because he's getting in the way of us getting better and people feel the need to defend him cause he's a pocket qb and that's what they like. We didn't lose any close games in 2003 because of crucial errors he made or because of a play he wasn't able to make, but Bledsoe has a laundry list of fumbles and ints and overthrows and balls thrown into the ground along with needless sacks. My point isn't how great Carter was, he didn't play enough games to get to that level, but he was on his way until Bill starting 'eating the cheese'. My main point is that Bledsoe makes more mistakes after 13 years of playing than Carter did with 3 years experience and we ain't going no where with his guy.

A better analogy would be that we would "just get embarrassed like we did against Carolina in the 2003 playoffs."

We got embarrassed against them in the playoffs, but at least we beat them in the regular season and they won their division, so they were a quality opponent. What quality opponent have we beaten this year? Nobody believed we would go very far two years ago, but they knew we were at least a good enough team that deserved to be there. This team doesn't have the look of a playoff team and national media agrees with me. We're hoping that other teams lose so that we can back in, which is a far cry from two years ago where we came from within a eyelash of winning 11 games.

NFL qb'ing is having one of it's worst years ever and QC is not on a roster. That tells me how stupid most of them are. No one wonder some 8-12 coaches will lose their jobs this year. Mariuchi wasa 0-2 against Carter when he had qb ratings above 100 in both games. Mariuchi has had qb troubles for the last three years, but didn't sign Carter, now he's been fired, that equals stupid to me. When you're afraid to sign a guy that owns you and you've got crap at the qb position, that's just stupid cause what have you got to lose.

If drew threw the ball away 7 times last week, you guys woulda been all over him for 1) throwing the ball away too soon, not giving crayton and Glenn time to open up. 2) his poor completion percentage, used as ammunition against him. 3) his poor passer rating, also used against him.

The dude cant win for losing. Even when he wins a game for us, its really inspite of him we won. You guys sound like a broken record from the Quincy days.

Your arguement should be, Drew sucks cause I dont like him. Period. Cause no matter what he does, hes never gunna earn your seal of approval. Hes never gunna get the benefit of any doubt. You guys are hating him cause of what hes not. A 24 YO young buck stud prospect, straping 6'4 -215. Rocket arm, golden boy wonderkund savior.

Your arguements make no sense when you cry foul. Hes leading the league in this or that, hes thrown for 100 miles already. Hes got skins on the wall. Hes not a bad quarterback. really!Yet here you are, pinning the failures on him in any and every way you can spin it. I mean when the head coach comes out and says what we have said so manytimes, why wont you believe it. You think its so easy to just throw the ball to Glenn, you try it. Parcells would throw you off the field himself, physically. You complain about Carter and Vinny, we get an upgrade and you complain about him. The only thing I can think of is hes not Aikman 15 years ago. What the hell do you want out of your Quarterback, given the state of this line, who could do better?

Drew b has more experience, but is not better. He's never been on a truly bad team, yet he loses as much as he wins. Carter came to Dallas when we were horrible, as he got better, we got better and now that he's gone, we can't make the playoffs anymore and neither will the Jets, unless they get Leinart and he'll take a while. Carter also has won 60% of his last 26 starts with two different teams. In both cases the assumption was the teams would get better without him. It hasn't happened yet.

After 14 starts he has 14 ints and at least 14 fumbles. What's your point? You know Carter would at least throw it away instead of taking the sack. Parcells said about Hutch, when you fumble the ball in the pocket, it's always your fault. I guess unless your name is Bledsoe,it's always your fault.

Numbers can be misleading, Bledsoe has played many more games than Carter, so of course he has more yards and tds. It still doesn't make him any good. Look, Terry Bradshaw won 4 superbowls, but he threw as many ints and tds, and Kenny Stabler, he won 1 superbowl and played for years went to the playoffs many times, yet he threw more ints than tds. Stats don't tell the whole story. Hey, Carter has helped 2 different teams get to the playoffs in the last two years, Bledsoe hasn't done it since '98. That says it all.

You're preaching to the Choir.

QC never had a chance in Dallas, Period! Bledsoe will get chance after chance after chance, it will be the oline's fault, or the receivers fault, or the wind the rain the snow you know.

We need to start over at QB while Drew gets another half year next year, unless we're in contention. If we're not middle of next year, move in the newly drafted QB and let's get er done in the next 2 years.

man, listen to yourself.

I liked Carter, I thought he would be a decent QB in a few years. Seemed to be working on it and everything. Then bam cut. Yikes, He pissed off someone.

But in anyevent. you can sit here and say that we would be better off today with a continuous Carter QBing. Thats a debatable point and one we will never know the answer to. But theres a reason Carter is not in the league anymore. Theres no blackballing players in the NFL. If hes good, someone would have taken him, look how many teams are QB starved. Us for one. Your telling me that an owner's not gunna upgrade that position with a sure fire upgrade when he can, and cheap cause of the off the field stuff!

Carter cut his throat when he pissed off who ever he pissed off. But it was with the boys only. Hes expendable, replaced with Bledsoe whos a damn good QB. Theres a reason pple say hes the best QB since Aikman here, not since Carter. I am not going into the whole Carter debate, but let it be known, I was and am a Carter backer. But you gotta live in the present. Live with Bledsoe, then upgrade. If Carter is better then Bledsoe, Parcells would have him back, if hes gunna win games, anything can be forgiven, unless he slept with Jones and Parcells wives, YIKES.

Dont sit there and say Bledsoe sucks, which is what your saying. He doesn't. You can fly the 'hes better then Bledsoe' flag all you want, but be fair to Bledsoe and yourself when doing it.

Apparently he can't read it fast enough to tell that the receivers are covered and then throw it away before the sack. He had the same problem in Buffalo and New England, that's why they let him go. This guy keeps getting more opportunities to fail just like the Norv Turners and Wannstedts, that's why the NFL is so mediocre these days, that's why Vermeil and Gibbs and Parcells can come back after years away from the game and still decent teams. At least Parcells could until he got rid of Carter, now we'll see how much of genius he is.

I guess he should just throw the ball away fifty times a game since he doesn't have any open receivers because the offensive line is so bad the D dosen't even have to blitz any linebackers and they clog up the middle. I am so sick of people blaming Bledsoe. Shut up about it and think about what you are seeing and WHY you are seeing it.

Bledsoe seems to have no sense of when to throw it away. I saw him stand there and pat the ball once, twice, and even three times as the defense converged on him. I could see the sack coming most of the time, but he just stood there patting the ball again and again until he went down.
That was, is and will forever be Drew Bledsoe
