You guys must work for the Chamber.
Regarding Crayton, I like him, too, but have read on here that Ogletree had pretty much already beaten him out for 3rd spot on the depth chart before we drafted Dez. If true, now he's 5th. Better for him to try and latch on with another team. Hopefully, we'll get a pick out of it.
Regarding RW11, I see him as a 3.5 mil insurance policy that Dez doesn't get a sense of entitlement by being handed the starting spot before he's even signed his contract. Bad for negotiations and bad for his work ethic - not saying there are work ethic issues, but I'd rather not create any, either. Plus, I don't see them cutting RW11 simply because of the draft picks used to acquire him. Next offseason is a whole different matter, however.
You keep RW11 on the roster this year as the "carrot" in front of Dez. Give the RW11 experiment one more year. See where Ogletree is and act accordingly. Sure, it would be nice to have Crayton as the 4th WR in 2011, but then you have a 32? yr old WR in what is normally the developmental spot when we could have Manuel Johnson, Hudgins, a 2011 draft pick, etc there. Obviously, Crayton is better than either of them right now, but will he be in 3 more years? Hopefully not.
