I doubt any QB from the run and get killed Spurior(sp) NFL freak show would be any less shell shocked. That was alot to ask of a young QB.

I agree, that OL rivaled our current one as far as suckiness goes. He had a bullseye on his chest.

I agree......Spurior should have had attempted murder charges brought against him. :D

We all blame Parcells for not developing QB backup/franchise QB, but isn't that Payton's job? Payton came here as OC with good rep for game planning & developing QB like Collins (who regressed since leaving Giants). In last week we learn Cowboys turned down 3rd round pick for Romo just before trading dealine. High pick for a young QB whose never thrown ball in regular season NFL game. Also in phone call with Seattle media just before we played them, Parcells mentioned ..he had young QB who would impress them.... Doubt we sign/draft young QB unless one falls into our lap but Romo (even Henson) must get playing team to develop. Also, don't forget it was Romo told Payton/Parcells we needed get play in quickly to prevent Carolina challenging just completed Bledsoe clutch pass. Don't remember which sports reporter had this in one of his articles but he also said apparently WR mentioned to Romo pass not caught. Only mention last item cause Romo obviously follows game closely and keeps his head.

Ramsey is good for the right price and is a really nice backup. Cannon arm with poor pocket presence and holds on to the ball way too long.

What draft pick you guys giving us for him? He is not an FA and his cap hit is under a mill I believe.

Brunnel had a decent year but I wouldnt lay all my chips on him staying healthy, if I were a Skins fan I wouldnt want Ramsey gone.

Exactly. I can't see Brunell surviving another full season. So Ramsey is there or we are getting a nice pick for him.

Ramsey = Bledsoe minus the experience and age.

Corey Chavous? Yes.
But our #1 FA should be a Kicker. Longwell IMO

i agree

Had he not been learning under Gibbs for 2 years, I would have called you crazy, but I think he's improved in technique and maturity the past 2 years. Ramsey had all the tools coming out of college, but he lacked guidance from his previous NFL coaches. I think he can be a starter for the Skins next year.

I have to respectfully disagree.

I remember a game, don't remember if it was a pre-season or opening of the regular season game, against the Jets where the Jets brought the blitz and there was a defender coming from his blind side about to take his head off. When the defender went for the sack, Ramsey ducked while the lineman "whiffed" then Ramsey hit Coles with a strike on a deep pass on the sideline(for a TD I think?).

Now, I may be wrong here. But, I don't think a QB can do things like that without "pocket presence" or the ability to sense pass-rush pressure.

The bottom line is Ramsey would be an upgrade over the other 2 QBs that are currently backing up Bledsoe.

I agree, I think Ramsey is something worth exploring. Spurrier couldn't stand him and got him killed his tenure and for some reason Joe doesn't like him either. He's had no confidence in none of the coaches he's played for, therefore no real shot at succeeding. His toughness and strong arm alone makes me think we should at least look at the possibility as maybe a backup. How many years we gotta wait to see what's up with Henson or Romo?

Living in DC I've seen this kid a good amount. I just don't think he has what it takes to become a franchise QB.

His biggest attribute is that he is "tough" Who else do we know that is described that way? (hint: he starts for us).

Ramsey really reminds me of Bledsoe. Good arm, but has no mobility or pocket presence. He holds onto the ball untill the last possible second and gets hit a lot.

Wouldn't be much of a upgrade over Bledsoe, other than the fact that he is young.

Corey Chavous should be our #1 FA target IMO.

Is this a joke?

Give Bledsoe a bit of credit would you?

Patrick Ramsey can't hold Drew Bledsoe's jockstrap. What has Ramsey done in the NFL to be categorized as a young Drew Bledsoe? Did you even watch Drew Bledsoe in his younger days, or were you in diapers? What people say about Bledsoe amazes me. Many of you are clearly going by what you read, and not what you saw...if you saw it at all!

Reading this hurts my brain.

Unless we have Drew Bledsoe from his younger days I don't see what he was like in the past has anything to do with it. That being said, I can pretty safely assume I've seen more of Bledose than you have.

It is clear that you have very little football knowledge if you have to resort to personal attacks to prove a point.

All in all, you fail at life :D

Yes he would be an upgrade, but then again so would Brooks Bollinger.

Word is they just don't like him there and will be cut loose -
Every NFL "guy" I've heard talk about this kid - thinks he has a Favre like arm and can not only good but something special.
We need to roll the dice on a guy like this and hope we get lucky - like Green Bay did when they plucked Favre from Atlanta and like the 49ers did when they got Steve Young from Tampa Bay.

No way!!!

That was the opening game for 2003, Coles' first game as a Commander. We fleeced their roster for four players and then kicked the crap out of them opening day. Pretty sweet win.

Great play, too, I remember it like it was yesterday. Granted, the guy was in his face, he had plenty of time to duck. Other than that, his pocket presence is awful, he can't feel the blitz unless he can clearly see the guy coming. He holds onto the ball way too long and takes too many sacks. No mobility, either.

Anyway, as a Commanders fan, I'd love it if he wound up on your team. Million dollar arm, ten cent head.
