Yes, he’s a top owner. Arguably the most powerful owner in the NFL. He’s in the Hall of Fame. However, he’s a lousy GM. You’re confusing the two.
So an owner who keeps a terrible GM after nearly 30 years of failure is a top owner in your eyes? Those super bowl years are a distant memory for many of us, and a non existent one for the rest.

This was kraft hearing the jets were interviewing vrabel and didn't want to mess around. It's what good owners do.

Despite Jerry being the GM the team has had successful regular seasons and has won a number of division titles. The Cowboys continue to be the richest and most popular franchise. This has made Jerry Jones a top owner and the most prominent in the entire league. I’m certainly not happy about it but it’s a fact. He’s bigger than any player that’s ever played for the organization. Everyone knows who Jerry Jones is.

Yeah reports were Vrabel was waiting for that position to open but it wasnt looking good but now I think it pretty safe to say he will be in NE,
Even an owner like Woody Johnson had decided to move on and interviewed Vrabel. Jerry Jones? He’s doing his “due diligence” while other owners are doing their job. Kraft putting his team in a position to consider top candidates. Jerry JOnes had not considered a “time line” on a decision on a the head coach position.

How much single malt will Jerry consume between now and a decision on a head coach going forward?

That's what is supposed to happen if you suck as a HC. Should've happened to MM immediately after the Packers game.
They really beat whatever was left of the jason garret hot boys moxie right out of us. How Jerry danced and made an excuse about that only to help us sink even further into oblivion is one of the greatest magic tricks I’ve seen in 30 years.

How so? Mayo only lasted a season. Kraft didn’t waste any time firing his coach. Jerry never fired an HC after one year. It may take a couple of weeks before he’ll make a decision on McCarthy. He’ll allow it to linger because he loves to add drama and have everyone speculating on it.

This, plus he wasted no time with the decision but watch Jed let this play out for a month before doing something.

Legacy is one thing. His Legacy is rooted in something he accomplished 30 years ago. Right now, he's a bottom tier owner, regardless of how rich he's become.

Wonder how long the contract was.

As we have been told, dead coaching money is a big problem in todays NFL and these owners can’t afford it.

I wonder if Kraft goes bust over this. Now someone tell me if Jerry isn’t seriously influenced by his cheap kid.
They did not release the years but it was $3.5 million per year. So not much

He’s a bottom tier GM. Despite the teams lack of success the last 30 years, Jerry Jones has gotten bigger and bigger and his team continues to be the richest and most popular. He also built one of the top stadiums in the league. Jerry is way bigger now than he was when he was winning those Super Bowls.

How is he a lame duck coach in year 1 of his job? lol. By that argument, all coaches are lame ducks which I agree with but that also means that effectively 32 coaches are lame ducks. He was named head coach without them even conducting a coaching search because he was named successor to BB.

There are those that accept 4, (or is it up to 5 now?) post season wins over the course of 30 years and then there are those that don't accept it.

Over the years it's become easier for me here to tell what kinda winning Cowboy standards most CZ posters have by how they post.

It's comical at times imo.
