Probably the most devastating and humiliating loss in NFL history. They choked badly, and not to get into a political debate, but Queen Hillary will probably make sure your candidate does as well.

What's funny is how earlier on, Ditka was saying his Bears wouldnt stand a chance against these Pats. Then as the playoffs came along, he got ticked off and started saying "Unless they shut out two teams and only allow 10 points in the Super Bowl like we did, dont say they're better than us."

You bet your sweet candy ***! If Willis f-ing McGahee can get over a hundred on the Pats, you can best believe Walter Payton would rush for two hundred... at least. Ball control. Ball Control. BALL CONTROL!

SERIOUSLY! And Bill Parcells were hyping them up like the best thing since sliced bread when he and Chris Berman were doing the Greatest Teams versus'07 Patriots on ESPN. He had the '72 Dolphins, '70s Steelers, '85 Bears, and a slew of other teams losing to them badly in his opinion. But they couldn't even beat the '07 Giants?! Lolol!

The funny thing is that he was going by that based on the fact that the one team who really went after them with multiple WR sets (The Dolphins) did beat them and moved all over the field on them.

The 85' Bears were great, their linebackers were great pass rushers/run stuffers, but they were not very good in coverage at all.

I'm not saying they wouldn't have won anyway (Cause I wouldn't bet against their ability to bring the same type of pressure the Giants did) but I also wouldn't be absolutely shocked if the Pats were able to slice up their defense with those multiple WR sets.

Even Ditka has admitted on a few occassions (One that comes to mind is the NFL Networks series called The Top Ten Linebacker Cores of All Time) that his linebackers were not good coverage guys, at all.

I think they came in something like 5th on the list. Might have been 4th. I know the Saints, Steelers, and Chiefs all had linebacking cores that came in higher.

"my favorite candidate, Obama, did better than expected in the Super Tuesday Primaries."

That is the only thing I will mock. Silly east coast people...

A couple of things. I always laugh at people who have a favorite AFC and NFC team, thats pathetic. Next, your team will be exposed soon and everyone will discount all of those phoney superbowls. Last, Obama sucks.

I won't mock you other than to say that I hope Obama and Hilary both go down the toilet along with the Cheatriots and Belicheat.;)

Nothing personal intended toward you though, it takes some guts to come on here to another teams board and tell it like it is in regard to you're team.

Yeah, the only thing "mockable" about you is your support for "Umbabba bin Babba" (as per Teddy "burp" Kennedy)".

Lose the cool-aid for this empty vessel, and you might get more cred as someone serious.

The '84 49ers and '85 Bears went 18-1 as well.

The thing about the 1 is....

My point was that it was 18 straight in a single season... I'm pretty sure you knew that, but split hairs if you wish...

Well, you're pretty wrong, but try to read minds if you like.

Takes some guts to come here and humble yourself.
Which frankly makes you a rare pats fan.
Choke? No. They were outplayed when it mattered. Their D could not make the plays when it mattered. The O did score when it counted (35 seconds left does not count). The D could not stop Eli Manning and get to him when they really needed to. ANd on the one play they did, they could not wrap him up.

I think there was a great deal of arrogance on both the side of the Patriots and their fans. When the pass rush was getting to Brady (and his gimpy ankle), the routes should have been shorter. Too many times the Pats threw down field (and inaccurately) when the underneath was there.

You know...I should not make excuses. They just lost when everything every football player in the world dreams about was on the line. A perfect season.

The Cowboys had a tough loss, too, but nothing like this. Still, the sun did rise the next morning, my children are safe and healthy and life is good. You and I will recover just fine and get ready for September.

(p.s. Please forgive any political references I made earlier. That was disrespectful to this board.)

One of the reasons they were pretty effective is because they held Wes Walker in check. The guy set the record for receptions in the Super Bowl, but his yards weren't anything to right home about. I think the Giants did a good job of taking away the underneath. The Giants were doubling Welker at times as well, and they made it a point to cover him with a CB. In the Jacksonville game, the Jags simply let Welker catch a lot of underneath passes, while dropping the LBs far away from the line of scrimmage.

I just think the Giants pretty much beat the Patriots defensively man-up.

Does anyone think this year's Pats can be in the "Best Teams Ever" discussion?
