Patriots @ Panthers. Monday Night Game

Hate the pats but that was clearly interference by Kuechly. Basically wrapped up and hugged Gronk
 
Great no call on the replay. Back judge threw flag correctly.... However other refs saw int. Kudos to that crew....right call
 
I thought illegal contact was illegal even if you did intercept. Or holding for that matter.

Guess they didn't want ref intereference in the drama.

Maybe they should talk about the weak call on the Panthers when the Pats scored on their first drive where they called a face mask on the Panther's DE on the third down which was BS?

Since when is holding a receiver OK as long as the ball is intercepted? The official who made that decision should be fired. Too bad there can't be an immediate rematch like in MMA.
 
I thought that was interference. If it was uncatchable, there was no need for Kuechly wrap up Gronk in the first place. By wrapping up Gronk, he was kept from competing for the ball.
 
Terrible non call. I hate Brady and the Pats like a lot but there has to be a call there. Defensive holding. That call does not take into account if the ball was not catchable. The guy they got to explain it was a terrible explanation. The ball was had no chance of being caught because Gronk was being hugged to even get back into the play. They threw the flag initially. Why pick it up?

Refs seemed intimidated by the home crowd.
 
Funny, Steve Young and these guys are changing their argument from face guarding to preventing Gronk from making a play and not competing from the ball.

Face-guarding is not illegal if you make no contact. Now Gronk didn't even make a play for the ball AT ALL. He gave up on the route. It was the correct call.

Plus, it was INT and a throw in double coverage.
 
So, the Panthers are 7-3 and have won 6 in a row and 7 of 8.
 
It's not even close to catchable either.. No matter how you try and spin it.. Correct call
 
i really hate tom brady. that guy is good but he's benefited greatly by having a HOF coach and great oline for his entire career.
 
Seriously though. How does the ref pick the flag up and leave with no explanation? Check the white hat's home of record. I bet it's Charlotte.. Lol!!!

lol, you guys are crazy if you think that play warrants basically giving the Patriots the game. There was no way he was catching that whether he was hugged or not, it was thrown well short.

The real issue is the interference penalty there which requires the ball be put on the 1, which is ridiculous. Give the other team a new set of downs maybe, but don't just let them waltz to the line like they did something.
 
Terrible call. It is either PI or Holding. Either way it is still the Pats ball for one more play because the game cannot end on a defensive penalty.

They do it all the time, picking up flags.

Again, face guarding is legal.

If there is contact it's Pass interference unless it's uncatchable... It wasn't close, not matter how you spin it. It was under thrown. No way Gronk adjusts for that ball.
