rofl, for most of you. It doesn't matter what the Cowboys do, it's a negative. Subtract out Dwayne Allen's 400 yards receiving last year and Jason Witten has had four different seasons that were greater than Allen's entire first four years in the league. (last year was his 5th) The only year in Jason Witten entire career that was WORSE than Allen's year last year was Witten rookie year when Witten only started seven games.

Your crying about the Pats vs Cowboys with this trade is outright laughable.

How the hell do you guys deal with all the drama you invent for yourself? I freaking hate drama and boot that crap to the curb the second it pops up in my life.

At this point, the Patriots are on another level than any team at roster management. $60MM in cap space and just pull trades like this off. They'll probably be active during the draft too.

Belicheck is playing chess, Jerry is playing Connect 4.

Jerry and Jason are in the corner, drooling

The Patriots are better at having the best QB to ever play. They've had bad roster management and drafting covered up by that fact.

They have 60MM in cap space and are winning SBs.

Claiming that they have bad roster management makes you look silly. I don't care how good Brady is. He still needs some sort of team around him.

You also missed the point.

I mean this isn't that great of a move.

The Pats are an impressive organization and all, but Dwayne Allen averaged 30 yds a game last year.

It's a very good move, but not for the reasons people think. But to understand why you have to dig a little.

If Bennett leaves for big money and the Patriots don't sign a tight end in free agency, they get a comp pick that's probably a 3rd or 4th rounder next year.

They gave up a 4th rounder for Allen and a 6th.

The Colts already paid the front-loaded part of Allen's contract.

So to recap: the Patriots are probably paying a net of basically nothing in draft picks for a player to have him under contract for several years, after the most expensive year of the contract (the first) WAS ALREADY PAID BY THE COLTS.

If Dallas traded two picks for a back up TE people would be losing their mind. Pats still have Gronk, but they are picking last so it's practically a 5th and 7th. Bill loves maneuvering for tight ends.

The Patriots traded 1 pick (4th) and get a 6th and Allen + still get the comp pick for Bennett leaving in FA.
