Pats Fan - Now you know what we know

Me thinks Pat fan is forgetting what it was like at Foxboro 1988-1992:)

Bills fans are learning now.....

Get Drew a real line and a run game (see Martin) and he went to SB. He showcased his talent this year and in many regards our lack of run game and pass protection has hurt us / him.

john elway broke the mold.

just my opinion.

i remember seeing some high school footage of him throwing a 60 yard rope to the receiver and i swear the force of that laser knocked the receiver on his butt from 60.
he damn near caught it in self defense.

You can say that again!! Put a REAL o-line in front of him next year and watch out!!

Well, I only started this thread because I know, I really know some of you will look at Bledsoe and think he is the best thing that ever happened since sliced bread. They still remain in New England, they still remain in Buffalo, and they will remain in Dallas. All I have to say is snap out of it already.

Welcome to the board Pats fan.

I clipped out this part of your post to focus on something you might be missing here.

Being a Dallas board full of Dallas fans, you can rest assured that no one here will ever look at Bledose as the best thing since sliced bread. We've been lucky enough to see the likes of Staubach and Aikman come through here..and dandy Don as well (before my time).

While a QB with the poise and ability of Brady is a great thing for you guys in NE, it's expected here in Dallas. While this may be somewhat spoiled and also severly lacking as of late, there is a very high expectation level for our team and our QBs.

I really don't think you'll find a whole lot of people here doing backflips and swooning over having Bledsoe.

However, he was easily the best option we had, and he's done a pretty good job for us so far.

I think you've come in here with a bad feel for what a Cowboy fan is. Leave the "Drew is God" to the other teams. We know better. We've seen better.

That's all I have to say. For all you Bledsoe lovers, please don't wait for any SB -- NOT. In 1996 Bledsoe had Curtis Martin as a running back, Terry Glenn as a receiver, and Ben Coates as the Tight End, and the bum still could not win the SB. Bum, double bum. Over-rated. But oh, can he throw the ball!!!!!!!!

First of all, welcome to this board. Personally-I've found Pats fans to have the most class.(and this despite the city of Boston getting VERY spoiled this decade:D)

Second, I've never been a Bledsoe fan. When he was signed here in Jan, I was getting the jitters a bit. HOWEVER, consider THIS...

Let's say-the Desmond Howard didn't pull his heroics in that 96 Super Bowl-the Pats had ALL the momentum going their way at that pt(Parcells' game plan was really getting into high gear in that second half with Curtis Martin just wearing down the Packers D), and they LIKELY would have went on to win that game...

In your opinion, do you think it would be BLEDSOE that would be getting free pass(after free pass), while BRETT FAVRE would be the butt of harsh criticisms for years subsequent after that?

In no way, am defending Bledsoe. But alot of people say too that Favre's decision making during his career has been just as bad-but he ends up getting a free pass anyways 'cuz of just that...he won a Super Bowl.

If it wasnt for Desomnd Howard,Parcells and Bledsoe have a SB in NE. And there is no talk aabout how great Mike Holmgren is. He is overrated. He has taken 7 years to build that team out in Seattle.

That and Brett Favre WOULDN'T be getting a free pass all these years either.

Did you know that Favre has the highest INT% of all successful QBs? Bet y'all didn't!

How do I start this. Perhaps to say that when there is a Drew fan they never get over it. In New England, in Buffalo, next Dallas. You cannot tell these people anything. Drew is God.

Now for those of us that can think, we say, well, yeh, one week out of 5 he is great, but then he falls apart. We will never win long term, consistently, over the long haul.

Here is the clear and simple answer. Bledose is a great QB in terms of throwing the ball, hitting his first receiver (the one the coach tells him to throw to).

Now, if there is pressure, or gee he has to find a secondary receiver and see the whole field -- trouble. Happy feet time. Can not handle pressure. Cannot see the whole field or make on the fly decisions. My talent will overcome that. Yeh, one game out of ?????????

I often thought how is it possible that with the same team Bledsoe was losing and Brady comes in and wins the SB. I have given it thought. But the answer is quite simple. Bledsoe has talent sure (throwing wise better than Brady). But it takes much, much more to win. Brady, well better than OK talent. But guts, heart, determination, he sees the whole field, can adjust, is calm under pressure (took a nap before the SB), releases the ball quickly, elevates his play when the stakes get higher, etc. etc. Just one heck of a QB. So talent wise, meaning you can throw the ball, sure Bledsoe. But winning, well that's just another ball game. I am going to win, I am not going to lose. I am calm. I will do whatever is necessary, I am going to win. What is it in throwing a darn ball, I can do it, and I will win.

So welcome to the third Bledsoe team of pain. Some of you will forever sing his praises -- others will wake up and smell the roses in a very short period of time (like me in New England). He may go the the Hall of Fame, but you know what, he has not done a darn thing except throw the ball well on occassion. Gee. So what. Get off the field already.

That's all I have to say. For all you Bledsoe lovers, please don't wait for any SB -- NOT. Well if you look in the history logs some of us already had that read on Bledsoe before he was ever signed.

I was one and MikeW was also and a few others out there also where on the anti Bledsoe in the offseason

Yeah-I'd really like to know how this thread starter thinks every one of us Dallas fans thought HIGHLY of this guy when we signed him?

Even every one Dallas' sportswriters wrote negatively about him at the signing.

We certainly have our share of Bledsoe/Parcells fans here. I don't know what they'll do when they both retire.
BP?
Yes.

DBled?
Not so much.

It cracks me up to hear our fans talking about..."well if the offensive line would block for Bledsoe" or "Tom Brady, Carson Palmer and Peyton Manning could not do well behind this O-line"

Listen folks that is crap...crap, crap, crap

you had about 50 of us telling you that the o-line was gonna suck now...well before the season began....hmmmmmmmmmm

How could we all possibly have known that you ask ? Are we physic?

No silly... it is always the same with Bledsoe...ALWAYS

you can take the team with the best o-line in the game right now stick Bledsoe behind it and they become very average or even poor over night...now you take what Dallas has an average O-line at best and stick Bledsoe behind it and you have no chance none...

Bledsoe can throw the ball...no one that I know of has ever doubted that.. the man simply has a million dollar arm but the rest isn't worth 10 cents...

think about it... and also remember old Dave Campo was pulling people off the street one year and the o-line didn't look this bad...

so please give those o-lineman some love they really are doing there best but Bledsoe makes what would be a hard job under normal circumstances as near impossible as it can get

Look, no one has claimed Bledsoe to be the cure all/ save all for our franchise, in fact a bunch of us had our doubts. He has surpassed just about all of our expectations as a whole, and thus gotten people to be boasting he is the deal. We ALL KNOW that he has his limitations, but when given time, he has been very effective. In fact, under duress in some games, he has done pretty well. For people to be attacking him is unwarranted for he has led the best QB play in probably six years. Would I trade him for Brady? Who the **** wouldn't? But he sure is a whole lot better than a crap load of QB's out there and definitley serviceable for our franchise.

Im sure Peyton Manning would be doing great with Tucker and Pettiti as his tackles....

Not relevant. Bledsoe has a LONG history of doing exactly what the original post said. It has nothing to do with Tucker and Petitti.

At some point, the QB has to hold some responsibility. In years past, Bledsoe has fallen when asked to step up.

The original post is spot on.

With all that being said, didn't the brain trust in New England give Bledsoe something like a $100 million dollar contract extension before he got hurt?

And hitting on Brady in the draft was pure luck. I don't think anyone there knew what was going to happen with Brady or they would have not givin that huge contract to Bledsoe. But I guess everyones a genius now that Brady's the QB. But what would have happened if Bledsoe never got injured? And don't forget that the first Super Bowl win came on the back of Bledsoe in the Steelers game.

Oh, and by the way, on one of your later post...I grew up watching Grogan. I hated seeing him get beat up by the Bears in the Super Bowl. Wish he could have gotten a ring before he retired.

Zaxor my friend.......The OL you mention under Campo.....was by far the biggest joke of an OL this team has ever had to endure and yes even worse than the 05 line. Remember the last game in Washington....all the O'lay blocks...poor Hutch ducking for his life on every play............that was a total embarrassment.: : : : :

Agree this years OL leaves alot to be desired but the Campo OL was by far the most disgusting. :)

Gee.... the guy gets no protection what so ever and now we have pats fans trying to say "See why we did what we did" yadda yadda yadda....

Where was you when Drew was putting up good numbers when he was being protected? When we didn't have to max protect most of the time. Kind of hard to manage a game when all your options our on the line blocking.

I am not saying that Drew is better than Brady. But I would like to see How Brady could manage this team with an o-line like ours and most of his options are on the line blocking. I guess fans like you don't see that, you only see the final results of the score on ESPN.

We all knew what kind of QB Bledsoe was when he was signed. But really we didn't have to many options to work with. In the first of the season, I seen flashes of when Drew could pick apart an defense when given the time. So I know he can be effective when he has the time.

But I don't think any QB would manage very well in the situation we have here in Dallas.

Nope. He's the best thing that ever happened around here since Troy Aikman.

Nothing more, nothing less.
