Romo does not have a dependable game breaking receiver to stretch the field. He was (should not have) throwing into double coverage all night because of inadequit spacing downfield, which would not have existed if the Giants respected the deep ball.

People like you who want to put the blame squarely on the shoulders of Romo and Garrett are laughable.

As always, we lost as a team, stop trying to find one scapegoat.

I agree this post is laughable...the Defense sucked as much as Romo did...whole team gets the blame. And as many points as our defense looks like it's going to be giving up, we can throw conservative out the door.

What irony, considering the reason why a lot of fans wanted to run Parcells out of town was because he wanted to run this kind of conservative offense. Not that I disagree with you, as I think Romo/Garrett's impatience in the passing game are their biggest weakness. I suspect if Parcells were still around he would do a better job of keeping Romo on a leash than Wade has when he goes "off the reservation" like he did last night.

I'm not a Parcells fan but when I see this offense making the same dumb mistakes over and over, I think of what might have been if Parcells and Sparano had stuck around.......

If only our own Defense followed this "patten."

Our defense does play like that, and that is the problem that many people complain about most of the time. Softer, deeper zones that allow for the play underneath but don't allow anything (usually) to get into the endzone once the offense gets in the red zone. The result is generally a field goal, or if they get close enough to the goal line our defense is normally strong enough to stuff them if they attempt to run it in.

The problem is that every now and again, we do get beat deep, but who doesn't? You don't think Buccaneers fans were pulling their hair out over the coverage skills of Ronde Barber and Aqib Talib on those pass plays to Austin, Crayton, and Williams? And don't tell me Barber and Talib are scrubs, because anyone here that knows one iota about football will laugh you off this website.

The problem with our defense is pressure situations. When the pressure is on, they tend to get caught out of position and have a hard time playing the 2-minute offense. If I were a coach, my recommendation for practice would be to simply run the 2-minute drill over and over to force our D to react in a pressure situation, but that's just my opinion. There's a reason why I'm a servicemember and not an NFL coach :p:

Well so far, they're 12-20, so they better have an amazing season and go 12-4 if they want to be .500.

I dont even see that happening.

I'll take this staff anyday, sans Wade as HC

If Tony Sparano is our head coach right now, we would be 2-0. Jerry should have never let him go.
So you wanted to make him head coach? That's the only way he could have stayed.

Romo wants to make a big play - prefers not to check down.
Garrett loves to throw deep.
The same pattern last night we see time and time again to creating Romo turnovers and Dallas losses.

Simple Plan:
Focus on covering the WR and downfield passes. Don't allow anything deep. A few short ones to witten is ok. I suspect we could have thrown to backs and run the ball all day.

What happens:
1. Romo doesn't have the patience to check down.
2. Garrett will want to throw some bombs even though the D is setup to not allow it.
Result: Ints and loss

Romo is to blame more. But we lose these games (when the D takes away the WRs) because our QB and Offensive Coordinator are not willing to play conservative, smart, ball control offense. It has happened for 3 years now.
There's something to this. Eli Manning had 25 completions, 6 went for 20+yds, but his other 19 completions were under 20yds. just kept the ball moving and drive alive.
