Pay for our running backs, or beef up the O-line

We all know that a good o line will get you places to go to Disney the next day! With that said, do we pay Zeke and Pollard, or do we go cheap and save that money for the o line?

I believe we can draft one, get a vet, and still use Davis. We don't need a stud back there, but we need this o line to be on point to take us to the next level. Please give your thoughts
I think Jerry and son were tired of Big Mikes buddy coaching the OL.

We overpaid Zeke in a big way.

Assuming full health, Pollard is more than worth the tag. We paid more for Schulz last year. And Zeke. And Gallup.

I'd rather have Pollard than *all three*. Put your money into the special players.

Churn the ordinary. Should have kept Cooper and let Gallup and Schulz walk. Ferguson already was about as good as Schulz last year. Schulz is ordinary.

Pollard. Speed. Vision. Acceleration. *Contact balance*. That's my favorite with him. He doesn't plow through defenders. He just bounces off of them and stays upright.

And did you see the 60 yard td when he was covered by a LB out wide?

We did that *once* in 4 years. We should be trying to get that matchup *all day long*, and take the pass when teams are dumb enough to give us that matchup. Only a handful of LBs in the league have a prayer of keeping up with Pollard on a fly.

And Dak threw a pretty good pass too. Simple play for a QB. Is the LB gonna get help over the top? No? Then aim and throw.
They won’t do that.

Schultz and Zeke are no longer on Rookie contracts.

The owner doesn’t have the leverage to get them for cheap.

Also, Pollard has a wrecked leg. Damaged goods.

Offensive line. Can’t run without it.

Paying running backs should never be a priority. Yes, that includes Pollard. Teams across the league find mid/late round RBs every year.

I dunno how to tell ya'll this but....

We literally had 3 first team all pros on the O-line and a RB that won the rushing title by over 300 yards all in the same year.

We didn't win a single playoff game.
2016?

I think that might have went down diffetent with romo.

By having a good o line and dedication to run game scheme.

Pay your OL, find some cheap running backs from off the heap
A good line might give zeke some life.

At the very least....a good o line will keep whatever rb from be forced to showcase his speed to the edge.
When was the last time you saw one of our o line up the field looking for someone to pancake?

Whatever else they do, I don’t want to see them paying big money for running backs.

Remember Deion Sanders reply to Jerry on the Papa john commercial ...?

BOTH .. !! :yourock:

I've stated OL...OL...move on from Elliott and don't tag Pollard draft two rookie RB's one early and one late

firing Philbin helps.

Zeke…he stays.

5th in rushing TDS and 50+ rushing first downs.

O-Line because you also improve the passing game. RBs are not hard to find. Great O-Lineman are and they are also generally less expensive. Bulk up and get depth at the lines and slot in whatever RB happens to fit in the budget.

Oline and Dline are always the answer.

You can win games with Cooper Rush if you can block for him.

Pollard is a special player but for how much longer will he be special?

His vision and acceleration are top notch. He’s got some Christian McCaffrey to his game.

But with Dak screwing up our cap I think RB is not a good investment.

Achane from A&M would be a great Pollard replacement.
Achane has some juice! And can be had in the middle rounds. Would be an excellent pick

This isn't hard
  • Resign Steele and find a high-quality - elite LG the OLine is fixed
  • Zeke isn't coming back. His agent has already admitted to finding his value at the combines
  • Tag Pollard
  • draft RB rounds 2-4
On a personal note .........please also draft Georgia TE, Darnell Washington (my pet cat )
if you cut Zeke tagging TP is a mistake in my opinion... your still paying way too much at the RB position compared to the production you could get with Davis and a couple rookies.

Maybe true but remember, in the NFL, you haven't done it until you prove it. We know what TP is bringing to the table.......

Yes but it has proven out that the production gap between good/vet RB's and thier pay is not much higher than the fresh legged rookies production and what you get saving that money... Again I like TP he is very good but the teams production in the running game wont be 15 mill worse with 3 fresh rookies unless we completley miss on the draft picks. If you look at 2022 team rushing RB pay really doesnt equal production.

Pollard is more than a RB. He’s a playmaker
We have 2 real playmakers on offense and I don’t get why people don’t see that letting pollard walk seriously hampers the offense
