You can do both.
You can draft Bijan Robinson and draft a very solid offensive linemen in the 2nd round. And don't forget free agency.

This isn't an "either,or"

Oline is a concern. I'm not paying steel max money but i'd like to keep him. If they keep steel definately cut Tyron and get ball and waletzco ready to fill in. try to sign McGovern cheap but also draft a better player if things line up right.

We all know that a good o line will get you places to go to Disney the next day! With that said, do we pay Zeke and Pollard, or do we go cheap and save that money for the o line?

I believe we can draft one, get a vet, and still use Davis. We don't need a stud back there, but we need this o line to be on point to take us to the next level. Please give your thoughts
don't pay for RBs. beef up the OL....then you get better run game with above average RBs, no need for elite type. and we get better pass protection. invest inside out.

I think you can do both. Yes we need a new starting LG so Tyler Smith can stay at LT, so either sign someone like Wiil Hernandez or draft like the kid from Georgia. If Steele not ready use Tyron Smith at RT or Waletzko who coaches are high on and use Tyron as the swing OT. Have Zeke take a pay cut which I believe he will and sign Pollard to a 3 year deal for around a total of $27.8 million where the bonus is actually spread over five years and years 4 and 5 are voidable years. We know the front office is going to redo contracts of Dak, Lawrence, and several others like it or not. Then we probably sign a few free agents and hopefully one is DT Payne and a WR.

Oline and Dline are always the answer.

You can win games with Cooper Rush if you can block for him.

Pollard is a special player but for how much longer will he be special?

His vision and acceleration are top notch. He’s got some Christian McCaffrey to his game.

But with Dak screwing up our cap I think RB is not a good investment.

Achane from A&M would be a great Pollard replacement.
The cap isn't screwed up.

Fix the OL?
How many OLmen do you think they need?
The Cowboys need a starting LG...1 OL. Stop acting like it's a rebuild.

RB room will be fine once TP is franchised and they draft a RB.

Heck, they could get a LG n RB in FA. I think with Schotty n Big Mike the run game will be addressed properly and the OL will be fine. More concerned with NT n LB.

Let Pollard go. Make Zeke take a massive pay cut, and Draft RB Bijan if he's there at 26 or 27. We need an offensive boost, and we need a good running game. But we don't have to pay top dollar for it.

Draft OL sign a SOLID starting DT in FA and fill in the holes...RB can be had in rounds 2-5 according to Brugler with a deep class.

Everyone on this board agrees Dak needs help, so help him on the o-line where if he's not the guy - it doesn't affect team chemistry too much in a few years if someone else comes in. This is why I don't mind OBJ...he will be gone with Dak if it doesn't work out in a few years - the potential LG with our draft projection of how we pick o-line could be a road grader for 5+ years.

What about taking a LG, drafting RB later and tagging Pollard - i think it might be safer and smart to work on the trenches instead of the backs themselves.

100% OLINE and DLINE! No idea why it is even a discussion anymore. I'd rather lose Pollard and be able to pay for a couple upgrades at Oline and/or DLine.

It is in terms of building the Super unit Dak needs while paying him like he’s a difference maker at his position.
Totally false. The team is in pretty good shape. They have a chance at being very good.

This isn't hard
  • Resign Steele and find a high-quality - elite LG the OLine is fixed
  • Zeke isn't coming back. His agent has already admitted to finding his value at the combines
  • Tag Pollard
  • draft RB rounds 2-4
On a personal note .........please also draft Georgia TE, Darnell Washington (my pet cat )
Agreed on all points except tagging Pollard. $10M is too much to spend for a RB. Jeff Wilson is a FA with estimated market value of $3m/year (Spotrac). He went to UNT.

For some reason the O line was perfectly fine when it was blocking for Pollard.

You draft an OL for depth somewhere in the middle of the draft, re-sign Pollard, Steele and get another RB in round 2 or 3. The running game will be more than fine with Pollard, Davis and a drafted guy running behind Smith / Smith / Biadasz / Martin / Steele.

IMO, the first pick should be used on an interior DL. That group is far and away the biggest problem group on the team.

Proper management means not allocating significant resources to the RB position. The team will have to break that cycle to be successful. This means not only using your salary cap dollars elsewhere, but also using your draft capital elsewhere. The idea of using a first round pick on a RB (Robinson) is absurd. It is simply continuing to make the same mistake.

They should draft best player available and sign Payne or another dtackle in free agency.

Robinson at 26 isn't absurd.

There is absolutely no reason to keep Zeke. A rookie back will cost less for 3 seasons than Zeke does for 1.
